Photoshop won't load...Pissin' me off

There are many people having the 'Photoshop won't load' anymore problems.

One was due to corrupted fonts.

In my case it'll load in safe mode but not standard mode.

I turned off my firewalls and still no luck.

anyone ever have this problem?

Hell no.

I have a new laptop and I put my old 5.5 on it. Certain pc video games won't install on standard either have to use safe mode.

I always install earlier versions on new computers and then each step just move up to the current version to make sure the bugs are out.

Oh ... strange. Windows problem obviously ... well, not necessarily Windows... but certainly something in your system ... as in... not Photoshop.

I'd start disabling all your services one at a time and trying the app ...

:)

Jeeze, I know there are windows users here that bitch about smug Mac users, but christ - I never even knew 'safe' and 'standard' modes existed on Windows, let alone why they would interfere with a Photoshop doc.

And wtf does a firewall have to do with anything?

Because nowadays programs when loaded try to access the web for several reasons, mostly to see if there are any updates or warnings etc.

Firewalls can stop these things if there's incompatability. My new system has XP as I didn't want it with Vista yet. I'm hearing too many nightmares about Vista already and will wait a couple years before installing that beta bullshit.

So somehow, there's a conflict with PS and it's not just me or my version. the newer versions have the same problem and it's been going on for a while I'm finding out. Not always the same reason either.

I knew something was up when installing pc games that I do mods for. Some would load and some wouldn't. I'm thinking it's a directx problem and will try something.

Well I fixed it on my own. Thanks slow ass Adobe not solving the problem.
