Mutt, the talent pool is bigger than ever in every region across the board and new girls are flooding the industry more than ever. Which makes it especially backwards and foolish the way that so many studios, and producers have been bidding up the talent rates for no reason at all the last few years. It's just so unnecessary and it only comes out of the independent producers or the studios pockets.

i agree that the numbers in the talent pool are bigger these days BUT the ratio of girls to shooters/studios has widened. the number of people shooting porn has by far increased faster than the numbers of new talent.

In reality, except for rare exceptions, all these girls are essentially interchangeable within broad categories anyway, eg, teens, MILFs, ethnic types. It amazes me that others are so willing to throw their money away spending big money for every model in every scene across the board.

I can think of at least 7 sources of income off the top of my head from one single scene, if you are a content producer that can create high quality content on a consistent basis, you can make some pretty serious cash, and if talent ever realized this they would jack up their rates even higher

you're right in that the vast majority of girls are interchangeable and the way the biz has always been set up is that they all get the same amount for the same job (solo,b/g,g/g,anal, etc) - like in any other entertainment field the stars should make more and the journeymen should make alot less.

I have paid for talent before and have been on a budget before, and I never minded paying top dollar for certain girls that have the "it" factor

fact remains, if a content producer doesn't know how to properly distribute his content to all channels available and make all available money that is to be made, that isn't the talents fault, it is the producers

for instance, a web site owner that has all exclusive content should be researching ways to have his content started into a dvd line, then after that vod/pay per view...after that cable (if possible)...the money stream is endless, there are people still making money off my wife and i and we have not shot new material for dvd in 4 years, but new dvd's are always out with us in them and we are still constantly on cable....
