alternatives to carma content management system?

We've been using Carma for over a year now and we thought it was a server issue but come to find out its software issue. We recently upgraded to a dual core 3.0ghz with 2gb of ram and carma scripts are still overloading the server. This happened to our last server also. Carma people says it's our server. We don't have too much content onthere and less than 3000GB of monthly traffic.

I'm tired of Carma people giving me excuses. What is a good alternative?

Check out MAS from Mansion Productions:

Amazing product and great support! I use them for years and I never had any problems, if there was any support I needed they took care of it.

If I have a problem I want it solved and not discuss about it, that's why I work with Mansion

I heard the pricing was outrageous. is that still true?

We are about to "hypothetically" :winkwink: use SiteDepth. So far looks good. :thumbsup

I'm about to install Carma, I'm certainly hoping I don't see any of the same problems... But we didn't skimp on server though, dual Xeon processors, 4 gigs ram, etc, etc...

Did you get the TMM people to talk with your hosting company? When I first started running NATS I was having problems, the TMM people were saying it was a server issue and my host was saying it was a software issue. Finally I got them both on a threeway call and it turns out it was a server issue, which was resolved within 30 seconds of both parties talking to each other.

How many sites and/or templates are you running?

I"ve been trying to get them to talk together for a year now. Guys at Carma aren't very helpful. I'm running NATS also and it works fine.

I didn't skimp out on this server. My host says installing 4 gig of ram won't meet didly because it'll use up all 4 gigs of ram for resources. The more you feed it the more it'll use.

I"m truly at a point of frustration with CARMA that i'm making a switch.

We have people running CARMA with very large sites with massive amounts of traffic and content with no speed or performance issues.

I have spoken with Fred this morning and he informed me that he has asked you for server login info to review the situation and see if he can find anything but that he has not yet received that info.

If you're frustrated and wish to leave I understand. If you have an issue tho with our support people you may always contact me directly also to look into the situation.

If you've truly been trying to have our techs speak with your host for a year now and they have refused I would be more than interested to see that correspondence with them.

Nothing but issues with TMM but we can't possibly be happier with the 4 installs of MAS we are running now by mansion. It runs our sites even across several clusters.

We use MAS and it works great for us.

Have no experience with CARMA though, but we use NATS too.

mattyboy 04-19-2007 03:21 AM

MAS is great :thumbsup

I don't know the current price but it's sure worth it, if you need all the options they offer and if you want to save time on updates, ma managment and worrying if the members areas are up and running you should buy it. Maybe there are other products out there but I didn't hear anybody complaining about mas yet

Methodcash Rick 04-19-2007 05:59 AM

MAS SUCKS...

It's too efficient, too easy, made it so I have TOO much free time, so now I'm lazy (or more lazy) because I don't have to update our sites manually, and can work on new projects.

DAMN YOU MANSION!!!:winkwink:

P.S. great product, and Ross is top notch on any questions, you might have.:thumbsup :thumbsup
