Violetta 04-15-2007 03:19 PM

you're good! Great idea! Always lots of people who just have too much money and what to be special and have custom stuff.

Probono 04-15-2007 03:24 PM

Proof that some people are stupid

imafuckingaussie 04-15-2007 03:24 PM

Congrats, what a smart thing to do )

V_RocKs 04-15-2007 03:28 PM

Crazy...

There is always a buyer waiting to give you money.

Good job!

Reading comments from perspective customers, it seems you could put up one of these every 2 to 3 days and make this a business...

American Play Station.

RawAlex 04-15-2007 03:28 PM

The bidding on that auction looks wonky. People jumping up almost 40% in a single bid? I am starting to think shill bidders are at work here.

DatingGold 04-15-2007 03:31 PM

yeah auction looks bogus.

Viper2K1 04-15-2007 03:54 PM

so the same guy also bought the white ps3 for $1425 in january and now pays $12.1K for a red one?

uhu :ticking

fris 04-15-2007 04:16 PM

looks bogus for sure

tehHinjew 04-15-2007 04:26 PM

lol well
he wishses he sold it for 12g's

"LOL it DIDNT sell for $12,000. I had received an offer privately the same day the auction was ending and I accepted it. I sold it for $1700. I couldnt close the eBay auction since it was ending quite soon, so I made him bid a ridiculous amount just to make sure he won.

I wish I sold it for $12k!! |"

xclusive 04-15-2007 04:28 PM

Sounds like fishy business is going on

GatorB 04-15-2007 04:31 PM

What a bunch of tards. First of all I'm sure you taking apart the PS3 and painting it voided any warranry for the winning bidder. Secondly why couldn't one do that himself?

One would have to be good to do it and make it look proper. Could I do it? Yes. Could joe smo? no. Iirc they used a nice downdraft booth etc for it.

I have some old PS2s, Gamecubes, n64 stored somewhere, I can spraypaint that shit pink and pay shipping if you take it off my hands for free.

IllTestYourGirls 04-15-2007 04:58 PM

doesnt ebay take a % of the final bid price?

yep... off of $12k it would be about $200 in fees. More if the item was featured, had bolding and subtitle, had a BIN option, and what price it was initially set at.

Including the insertion fee Ebay's total take is less than $50.

um - i tried that with my first computer - not pink tho! and it doesn't work great - u gotta have the professional equipment like this guy does to get a professional result.

i used to know a company that did a big business in refurbing old retro kitchen appliances in cool colors.

Mutt 04-15-2007 05:05 PM

I'm coming up with close to $200 on a 12k auction win. The only way he won't have to pay $200 in fees if both he and the "winner" of the auction mutually agree to not complete the transaction. If he doesn't do that, the final value fees will be close to $200 including base insertion fees. If the auction was featured, bolded, gallery inserted, subtitles or other features, the end price would be more.

Jayvis 04-15-2007 05:15 PM

It does look cool though.

It's already been stated that it sold for $1700

Pipecrew 04-15-2007 05:23 PM

You are a genius letting the auction go to 12k, now people are going to be doing this all day long and your nice 1700 will go to 300 next time.

aico 04-15-2007 05:25 PM

Looks better black.

Ugh. eBay doesn't care about that, they care about what is listed as the final bidding price. Since the final bidder bid $12k, that's the amount of money they base the final value fee at... until you report them as a 'non paying bidder' or otherwise both mutually agree to void the transaction.
