Vista Pisses me off

All those fucking alerts and checking if you want to do something you just double clicked on!! Argh!

Wish it looked crap. Then i'd still have xp...!

Thinking of getting a mac. But think i need to replace a monitor, first ... =)

DomP_nl 04-15-2007 01:51 PM

I feel for you

Get back to xp

GrouchyAdmin 04-15-2007 01:54 PM

There's a reason to never adopt before it's ready. I remember when Vista was going to have a journaling file system, and a billion other things.

Pretty eye candy at a waste of CPU and processes. Sometimes it's wise to just leave well enough alone.

I'm wondering how long we can continue to use XP? I defenately don't wanna switch to Vista, but won't it be only a matter of time before software companies will stop supporting XP which would then basically force me and other XP users to switch to Vista?

warlock5 04-15-2007 02:05 PM

I'm still on Win2k. Works great.

We are safe for another few more years I would think...

You can go into the options and disable that, so you don't have to deal with it.

Quite a while. You are looking at two years minimum. XP will still be viable four years from now, but by then most programs will be Vista only and no support for XP.

Star 69 04-15-2007 02:35 PM

Vista sucks

Aric 04-15-2007 02:36 PM

I'll be on a mac before i'm on Vista.

What a piece of garbage.

Not saying OS X sucks .. just saying I'd make the "switch" :)

tornell 04-15-2007 02:37 PM

yeah Vista sucks, I have Vista Ultimate

OS X eye candy is a plenty too, but yeah, Vista sucks those processor cycles like gummy bears. Shame it's too much to pass off 100% to the gfx card

OzMan 04-15-2007 04:16 PM

Two of the hardest things to do nowdays:

1) Buy a new PC with XP on it

2) Go back to XP after you put Vista on

:Oh crap :Hollering :waaaaahh

I won't be going near it again until a patch comes out for the connection limit

What do you mean saying "software companies will stop supporting XP"??? Vista has a same core (Win32/Win64 API) as all other NT-family OS's like NT 3/4, Win2K and XP. Everything what use Win32/64 API will work on ALL those systems. Excepting (maybe!!!) DirectX 10 which was announced for Vista only. However I don't plan to use DirectX 10 in my work. Do you?

Slick 04-15-2007 05:45 PM

Yeah, Vista gets you on the DirectX 10, if anyone hardcore gamers here here plan on playing the new Unreal Tournament game coming out later on this year, you're gonna want to have Vista and a DX10 video card.

GTS Mark 04-15-2007 10:09 PM

Vista sucks ass, I finally have most of the issues worked out but what a pain in the ass to deal with.

Microsoft announced they will be supporting Windows XP until 2015. Don't think you have to worry about that.

Dynamix 04-15-2007 10:25 PM

Turn that off -- I did right after installing and aside from the lame Start Menu (reverted back to the XP version myself) and the huge Windows Calendar bug, I'm quite pleased with Vista.
