Making Free Sites, a few questions

Okay so again the benefits of making free sites has arisen.

Are they really that lucrative? Who hosts free sites?

I know some gallery submission places only accept free sites
so what's the deal there?

Who has a cool 'how-to' in regard to free sites and affiliate
programs that work best on a free site.

Wether or not they are lucrative will depend on what you will do with your traffic I suppose. You'll probable need sponsors or advertise your own avs or paysites. Personally I've had more luck with promoting my own sites on my free sites. I think it's hard to predict if it will be lucrative or enough or not for you. The affiliate programs that would work best on your site would be affiliate programs that are in the same niche as your free site, but perhaps you already knew that :-)

I'd try to get a good hosting deal and put the sites on a leased server if I were you.

Cool! Now I'm worried about traffic because I can get Hun-like traffic to some galleries but without proper preparation it could be more like an avalanche than a bonanza.

Any examples of a well done free site?

There will never be a "Hun like avalance" of traffic even if every Link Lists accept your freesite. If fact, you'll spend less than $2 per day on bandwidth cost from traffic generated by LL....

What the heck did you type? It fell off at the end.

In contradiction, on occasion I've gotten traffic on a massive scale that I didn't expect. A few times by The Hun.

Since some big link lists only link to free sites, that's why I'm asking.

When did bandwidth get so cheap?

Are you talking about free sites, galleries or TGPs? There are not exactly the same thing!

Make sure you have the proper 2257 docs.

now I wait for DOCTOR 30 to ask "what is 2257?"

Can a new person even get listed anywhere of significance these days? This isn't 1999 where you could make gallery with sponsor content hosted on free host and get listed just about anywhere. It seems most TGPs you now have to have a "partner account". Most want to charge you for said account. And most aren't giving out new partner accounts anyways regardless.

I think nowadays most good listing have to be paid for?

selena 04-14-2007 10:52 AM

Are you talking about free sites that are submitted to places like Greenguy's and PenisBot? The warning page, main page, page 1, page 2 type of thing? If so, there will not be Hun-like traffic.

Nothing close to that.

That isn't to say that link list traffic isn't good traffic. It is. But it is a whole 'nother critter than tgp traffic.

I work in adult cartoons. We don't need 2257 documents for cartoons.

Nobody is gonna card a toon.

Why do you think that? TGPs are not the only place to get listed.

I was talking about TGPs indeed. And I said 'I think that' because I read it somewhere and also because I don't know all that much about TGPs.

What's more? Link lists, directories, toplists, blogs?

Im paying $4.50 for 25GB a month, so $2 of bandwidth in a day would fuck me over! lol
