- go after the source of how they make money. - get sponsors who's content is being used to sue, go after the domain register, hosting company, etc.. anything and everyone you can. who is advertising on their site. I can't understand why the big sites who's shit is being ripped off don't actively pursue copywrite violations. You can understand torrents I guess, pretty hard to put a stop to that. But when the files are hosted on actual webspace like rapidshare and the myriad of other upload sites you'd think they'd be able to take legal action against them for hosting the files. Rapidshare actually make a profit directly from shit like this and get away with it.

b) Go after the sharing sites There's absolutely no point in trying to chase down all the fucking blogger etc sites who link to these, as some are taken offline 24389725 take it's place. These people are not always even in it to make money, they just share it like a hobby. I know a few BIG places that don't even have ads, don't charge board members anything etc. They have no expenses, they have a free board with links to 'imagerevenue-type' sites with thumbs, and the actual content on rapidshare. I personally feel royally fucked everytime I read these boards and scan them for my content, even if I don't find any. Do you HONESTLY think that ANY of these millions of people who have discovered these sites will EVER buy a membership again? No..why would they? They get more shit for free than any paysite can ever offer, they offer most of the content of ALL the paysites..for free |

I shoot off emails to rapidshare once a week and they are a mile long, seriously LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG 200k+ text emails.
They remove every link within 48hrs but it's never ending. I'm going to email them and see if I can talk to someone on the phone there to see if there is some way we can work out a solution togeather. It's a stretch but I haven't tried that approach yet. |
