Ive heard it countless times before, so why wasnt I smart enough to see it coming this time? I've been a lurker here for over a year but this is my first post. Everyone seems to look out for each other in the amateur community and I feel its my responsibility to give a heads up to anyone who is or is planning to do business with a guy named Chris Begin aka "GoodChris",( formerly of WRP) now BDA "XnetManagement". Im almost certain he was just down in FL drumming up business for himself. Anyone considering doing any business with Chris Begin or XnetManagement should seriously reconsider their decision.

Back in March, he and I entered into an agreement of 35% of my net revenue in exchange for his promotional/marketing services. Like an idiot, I let him get started without a contract signed between us.....thats my bad.....shame on me. Whats worse is, I agreed to switch my new signups over to his Epoch account without a contract either,.....thats my bad #2......so shame on me again. I dont want to get in a pissing match here over who did or didnt do what. But the long and short of it goes like this:
After 2 months of his backpaddling, I decided to terminate my business relationship with Chris Begin & XNetManagement solely because he didnt do ANYTHING we had verbally agreed on. For starters, simply hammering out a contract with me in writing clearly stating what services I was receiving in exchange for 35% of my net. When he became increasingly evasive when questioned about it and more and more difficult to communicate with, I did what anyone else would have done. I cut my losses and went back to running my own affairs, maybe not very successfully but at least the checks have my name on them again. Epoch paid him a long time ago, and of course he still hasnt sent me squat for revenue generated during the time MY customers were directed to his processor. I know I never should have allowed him to switch my join page as part of his marketing plan...that I can guarantee I will NEVER let happen again. You know how the story ends....if I hear "the check is in the mail" one more time Im gonna puke. I realize I dont have a leg to stand on without anything in writing, and I'll never see a dime of those monies. Live and learn. Whats sad is, its only $438 but its the principle of the thing. He obviously must need it alot more than I do. I find it really ironic that the favorite quote in his profile here is "Assumption is the Mother of all Fuckups". Boy is that an understatement.

I believe GoodChris has a lot of explaining to do...inot only ot any prospective clients, but also to WRP Productions whose good name he may be dragging into the mud by using them as a reference while he fails to keep any promises.

GoodChris, if you had any conscience, you would either pay the lady what she is due, or give her a truthful explanation why the money that she is rightfully owed is not in her hands.

Assuming your side of the story is true.. I would have my current processor rebuild the password database minus Chris's customers. Once the chargebacks start rolling in I'll bet everyone becomes more interested in paying you. Just make sure you rename or remove Epochs software so nobody has the ability to screw with your password file. You could try calling Epoch and telling them what the deal is too. Who knows.. they want those rebills as much as you so maybe they will do the right thing. Its either that or they take a hit too.

I find one little part of this funny. An established personality (just not on this board) shows up using her usual name, CandiCam. And someone from one of the *two* companies that uses "Candid" (with a D) complains about her title. You realized that was silly after you posted, right?

When I go into an agreement with anyone to do their traffic, I switch the billing to my processor. In the event that we end our agreement, I am to keep every bit of the agreed upon percentage of recurring billing until each customer has expired from the billing cycle that was processed under the term of our agreement.

We started to process your site on April 6th. From May 10 until May 15 I was out of town. I left you my cell number in case of emergency etc. You decided to remove my processor from your join page on May 13th, restore your old processor and CANCEL EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMER that was aquired under our agreement.

For the $777.00 that was processed in 5 weeks, without warning or reason, you simply cancelled them. So now, my efforts according to you are worth under $200.00. I don't even get the recurring billing from the work that I DID for your site, a site in which you said you got maybe 2 signups in the month just before I took it over.

I think you should think twice about starting a war with me here, or I will stop payment on the checks that have been sent to you, to cover the legal costs of any law suit that may be incurred from your public slander.

Webmasters, think twice about working with candicam, or at least, make sure that you sign a contract with her before you do any work for her. That was my biggest mistake.

Just so that there is no confusion, Evil Chris and I are 2 very different people. Sorry if your name got confused in here bro.

What makes this thread peachy and dandy is the fact that now neither of you have credibility. We have no way of knowing who's the sack of shit, so I assume you both are.:)

Yes I cancelled those memberships. Why should I let you collect recurring memberships from people that signed up for me....not you, when it was clear you were yanking my chain anyway? I would think someone of your caliber and expertise in this industry wouldnt be snivelling over 20 lousy memberships anyway, much less only $438. And by the way, you have your figures wrong, I get more signups on my own, before and after you and I met. If you think you are justified in keeping the $, fine you can have it. But quit lying to me month after month. Either way its just lame business and you know it.
And Im not here to solicit for anyone to do business with me, just to warn them about you.

I wouldn't stop the payments, thats not my style. I said that out of frustration. I just wish that rather than air dirty laundry without realizing what she did to me, she would've thought about it first. I mailed checks to her last Tuesday. I am in Canada and she is in the US. It can take 10 business days for checks to arrive. I don't think waiting 7 business days was worthy of public slander.

I work with other people and never has anyone done what she did to me. Now I have to reconsider my business model once again to make sure that this doesn't happen again.

I will admit that I could have sent her the checks sooner, but had she not shut off the billing and cancelled all of the clients on me, she and I would have 0 issues right now. I was a little peeved by the whole affair.

This is the point in the thread where I like to stop by and point out that when people have pissing matches like this, both of them lose reputation. In general, I would say that the satisfaction you get out of defending your own side is not worth the harm done by everyone seeing your dirty laundry. Attacking someone else, and them attacking back, make you look bad. Each side gets double trouble.
