It's amazing how many people can't understand that once you sold an e-mail list and the site people double-opted-in for is no longer sending the mails it is then pure spam.

Simple concept I'd have thought but then so is linking to an image.

usually if you run a double opt in list. you tell them in your Terms that they will receive email from others
(the people you sell your list to)
that does not make it spam..
since they agree to be solicited and is 100% legal

Depends on the list. MANY of the site run double-opt-in mail things don't have those terms. The bigger players mostly do but most of the shit sold through BB's is just that, shit.

And also there's the rub...you join one of these programs then unsuscribe and every tom, dick and his dog is still spamming your ass off as you're not removed from their lists. It's spam no matter how many hidden little TOS you put into the program.

The terms you refer to almost say 'Once I join this I am happy for ANYBODY to spam me for as long as I have this address'. Ok they're there but spam is usually regarded as unsolicited and unwanted e-mail. Whatever shit disclaimer is hidden in the terms, the mails sent out are still spam once sold on.
