New Stem Cell Treatment For Diabetes

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/lif...cle1637528.ece

This stem cell stuff gets better everyday. This technique is astounding to say the least and it's applications are only at the beginning.

Basically, when someone is first diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, they remove stem cells from the blood or tissue, use chemo to destroy the person's immune system then reinject the stem cells creating a brand new immune system! It's fantastic! Just think if they can do this with AIDS patients or victims of other immunilogical diseases!

I will be there at some point, and I hope we've gotten over the "stem cells are babies" phase this country is in right now.

I was lucky to get a job with the top stem cell treatment companies. What I get to see would blow your minds. This is real Star Trek Dr. McCoy stuff and if I told you what was gong to happen you'ld all fall out of your chairs. We use adult stem cells not embryonic stem cells. All I can say is you guys better make some money fast and stash it away for your OLD ASS MOTHERFUCKING AGE cause you're gonna be around for a LONNNNNG time.

Our company had a big meeting and dang the advances in stem cell treatment are just piling in and piling in.

Parkinson's and Alzheimers are two diseases that could see some amazing treatments in a short while too.

I am new here and am coming from the Biotechnology world....I was a technical sales rep on that side of things but due to numerous layoffs I am done for now before that I worked in the world of medical/animal research at many different places and helped in the development of an AIDS vaccine being tested in humans as we speak. I think most people would be amazed at all the advances being done in research, period, not just in stem cells and I'm sure you would agree.

I agree that the whole stem cell debate tying it to babies is unjustified and is just an uneducated one....most of the time.....I think the media makes it more than it really is. I am amazed at all the stem cell stuff that is coming out. I get weekly emails about all the different things they are doing....and keep up on this side of things since it was in my field.

But arguing stem cells and medical research in general is also like arguing animal research most of the time (before every one rakes me across the coals here...I am a huge animal lover...I used to do animal rescue)....until you have been on that side (as a patient with an illness or as the person working to find a cure) of things you don't "get" it and don't realize it's really not what every one makes it out to be.

We are guinea pigs ourselves in the whole scheme of things with the food we eat.....do people not realize why the chickens in the store are so plump and big? They really shouldn't look that way no wonder we are all getting sick and need medical/animal research to save us....LOL

Stepping off my soap box now :2 cents:

Hey ShannonB!

I'm glad someone around here can attest to what's going on in the medical area!

You know as well as I there are things achieved that haven't hit the news yet.

I can however disclose that growing new organ and nerve tissue as well as bone tissue is a given. It was announced a few weeks ago that new heart tissue for valve replacement has been grown. I know for a fact that dozens of whole hearts have been grown and are being tested to get the bugs out. It's only a matter of maybe two years at the most when we'll be demonstrating to the public new heart transplant technologies as well as kidneys, pancreas, optical nerves and tissue, skin for burn victims and last on the plate is growing complete new lungs. That's a tough one but so far in the past year there've been leaps and bounds.

In ten years on the outside there won't be a body part that cannot be regrown.

We'll be able to stop a majority of diseases and injuries short of growing new arms and legs which is far more complex.

The fact this newest treatment can regrow an immune system is astounding.

ShannonB, our company is world famous and yet we still can't get approval for a treatment center in the U.S.. It's because of the regulations. When you have someone dying they don't care, just treat them. However Canada has wised up and we'll be treating Americans there. We're 3 years ahead of everyone else and only use adult stem cells. We are so good at it that last summer Pres. Bush asked us to appear at the White House to prove you don't need embryonic stem cells. Then the Vatican invited our director to show up.

You'll see them on tv soon as the Pres. is again bucking using embryos which we feel is totally unnessessary.

If you're out of work in the medical field and feel like you want to get back in just hit me up via email. The amount of growth the medical field is gonna grow especially nursing is going to be phenomenal in the next years on.
