stev0 04-09-2007 07:08 PM

waiting till last minute... im lazy

CaroMark 04-09-2007 07:09 PM

I have kept procrastinating but I have to get it done this week.

Arista225 04-09-2007 07:17 PM

TAXES??? You mean I have to file taxes? WTF?? Kidding!! I haven't done mine yet but will this week....I procrastinate on things I don't like doing although I'm getting a refund.

bdld 04-09-2007 07:31 PM

i did mine mid march, i'd do them earlier but i like to wait to get as many 1099's as possible.

Slick 04-09-2007 07:35 PM

I always wait until the last minute. I dropped mine off at the accountant on Friday, she said she'll have them done by mid-week.

From what I hear, there's less of a chance to be audited if you wait until the last minute since there's a big rush of people doing them at that time rather than fewer doing them early on. I don't really think I'd have anything to worry about being audited, I'd just rather not, ha ha ha.

I entered everything in turbotax, but still have yet to print and sign in

Worried 04-09-2007 07:48 PM

And how many hours did it take you all to organize your stuff to give it to cpa/do it yourself?

DirtyDreamer 04-09-2007 07:57 PM

I did my yearly taxes back in January but I did my first quarter taxes today.

Spunky 04-09-2007 08:31 PM

Shit..I guess I better get that finished

Rochard 04-09-2007 09:01 PM

I was done a few months ago. Thanks in part my accountant being rather creative - and planning ahead - I got back a large amount of cash this year!

Finished mine last night and sent them out this morning.

Jace 04-09-2007 10:36 PM

Actually I heard opposite about that, you have less chance of getting audited if you get them done earlier. Of course yours is hearsay and mine is hearsay.

I'm filing a extension this year. :(

V_RocKs 04-09-2007 10:50 PM

I have everything in order.. takes me about 1 hour to do them... so I usually wait until 2 days before the deadline...

JD 04-09-2007 10:57 PM

haven't even started :X

Same opinion. Imagine, that you sent your tax report to the government in the January and the clerks looked on this report three months :) he will must find some mistakes and make audit, or remember your name and do audit some other time.

Here in Germany I have to pay around 50% of my income :(
