goatse man can get jail time (absolutely no pic)

I've just read that is you're using a fake title on a post in a blog or forum and post a goatse inside, this can get you some jailtime in the US.

here is the claim:
Quote:

§ 2252C. Misleading words or digital images on the Internet
(a) IN GENERAL.—Whoever knowingly embeds words or digital images into the source code of a website with the intent to deceive a person into viewing material constituting obscenity shall be fined under this title and imprisoned for not more than 10 years.

That law is meant mainly to stop the SE spam pages where the guys use software to generate pages off of keywords. Such as the guy that was busted a while back with the auto installing dialers using keywords targeting kids.

2252C the misleading urls law has been in effect for almost a year now.

If the way the President has been buttfucking the U.S. citizens for the past 5 years isn't obscene, then goatse damn sure isn't.

Are you asking for a 2252C interpretation of those domain names?

2252C refers to website source code. I'm sure we can agree that a domain name and a websites source code are 2 completely different things. As such is the case, those 2 domain names have nothing to do with 2252C.

Now if one of those domains was loaded with goatse pictures and was back-linked as "disney pictures" ... then you could have a case.

VexXxed 04-09-2007 10:25 PM

Keyword stuffing G rated content onto an X rated site would also be a violation.

So to answer your domain name question, those would be fine... as long as you didnt put anything "obscene" on the pages ... but even then, the domain name does give a fair warning that the content is X rated.

DaddyHalbucks 04-09-2007 10:26 PM

I guess I was thinking of this bill:

JDog 04-09-2007 10:35 PM

lol Great thread, but I gotta add a thing now that the misleading domain things came up. Some people that use some domains should be fined. When my niece was 10 or 11 she was looking for new Britney Spears stuff, and so she typed in PopStars.com and she of course got a adult site.

How many other kids do you think typed in PopStars.com into the browser? Probably a lot and I agree with fining these fuckers. If idiots out there learned how to make a honest living in the porn industry, maybe their stupid asses wouldn't need to deceive people with fake key words.

I hope every one of them deceiving, SE spaming bastards goes in for 10 years. :) Just my two cents haha

I wasn't familiar with that bill. In looking over it, it seems that the domains you mentioned would not be violations...

Quote:

Sec. 2252B. False or misleading domain names on the Internet
`(c) For the purposes of this section, a domain name that includes a word or words to indicate the sexual content of the site, such as `sex' or `porn', is not misleading.

Well, popstars.com is pretty gray if you ask me. If you're talking about something like popsingers.com then yes I would agree with you for sure.

VexXxed 04-09-2007 10:43 PM

How about thehun.com ... who dictates what is fit for such a domain name? Vikings!?

webgeek 04-09-2007 10:45 PM

another point of this issue is the gallery descriptions.
take this example:
there is a link like that:
"britney in the gym class "
sends you to a gallery that britney skye gets nasty in a gym with the basketball coach.

well it's no big deal if this link is in your tgp, but if the SE picks this up...

I can't agrree more with vexxxed's first post on the thread.

popstars.com isn't gray, it's in the red. What is a pop singer called? A pop star, so a kid looking to find information on multiple pop stars would probably go to a search engine and type in pop stars into the search and boom, they find popstars.com probably easily at the time the site was working.

I think the problem is there wasn't proper deterrents to keep the kids out.

There needed to be an "Enter Here for Pop Singers" ... and then for the people who knew what they were looking for, "enter here for x."

I mean there are legit reasons for having an adult site named popstars.com I could own a stripclub called "Pop Stars" ... or a bukaki championship team that is practicing for the bukaki bowl 08.

Very true, but at the time she was pop'd up with a LOT OF different things. But a good way to deter them from it would have been good.

Yes, I agree 100%. There is a website close to that of another popular children's show that my ex g/f's 10 year old daughter typed in at her mom's and it blocked it. It was a typo of the TV show's name and it was a hardcore porn site with auto-installers. Luckily her mom had put on a blocker the week before, thanks to my insisting.

Fucking slimey cocksuckers. There is no way to make money off a domain like "pongebobb.com" or whatever the URL was. I can't remember but I think it may have been something close to ongebob.com or something VERY similar.
