So I walk out of my apartment yesterday and there is a big frickin snake! (PIC)

He was on the sidewalk & I walked around him to my car before I realized I had my camera in my purse.
I wish I hadn't freaked out at first because I could have gotten a much better one if I were closer. By the time I got near he was making his escape.
Anyhow, I've lived in AZ all my life & I've seen a few little snakes but this guy was scary & just too close to my house :(

He's leaving after just eating the mouse in your house so it's a good thing.

Sarah_Jayne 04-09-2007 10:10 AM

I will add that to my list of things that don't tend to happen in London.

Cyndalie 04-09-2007 10:10 AM

Too freaky, I can't stand lizards, snakes and other reptiles running around me!
And if they're poisonous, that's even worse!

Odds are you would go years and never see either, especially if you lived within the city limits.

shekinah 04-09-2007 10:52 AM

That's no baby snake.. scary creep!:(

TG Rebecca 04-09-2007 10:54 AM

omg, i would have just died. :) i'm cool with snakes if they're someone's pet, or in the zoo, etc. but in the "wild" i would probably hyperventilate. :)

jmk 04-09-2007 10:57 AM

Oooh that's big

Why not just get your gun and shoot the thing?

TroubleTonya 04-09-2007 11:54 AM

Hey girl, at least it wasn't a rattle snake. Looks pretty harmless as long as you don't try to catch it. :)

Yeah you're right! It was so close that if it was a rattler it definitely would have given me a warning to back off.
He was at the end of the sidewalk when I stepped out of my apartment all curled up, maybe 3 feet to the right of the walkway I come down.
Creepy creepy creepy. I wasn't worried about it trying to bite me, I know better, but snakes just make my skin crawl. :helpme

run on to them on occasion, rarely in the city but there are some areas around here that are new and you get them, aint gonna bother anyone unless your stupid or an over curious cat or dog.

yeah, I was glad I didn't have my little dog with me. Sometimes he runs ahead a few feet since his leash extends. He probably would have wanted to investigate.

az_bobby 04-09-2007 01:26 PM

yeah that would have been bad news. Just continue to be alert. Its that time of the year.

HeadPimp 04-09-2007 01:31 PM

Heh... One more nice thing about Seattle. All our snakes are friendly.

Humpy Leftnut 04-09-2007 01:32 PM
