Movie- 300 ... I have a Boot of a Studio Copy... Should I...

My brother in law gave me a boot of a studio copy of the movie 300. should I watch it or hand it into the FEDs ??

Yeah right .. I'll give my review later :winkwink:

I can't wait for it to come out on BlueRay .. I have the PS3 hooked up finally to the 42" plasma in my home office.

I saw a 10/10 screener of it about 2 days after the premiere, an awsome film (in places) though it is a little slow at the beginning....

one of the best movies i have seen....

Grapesoda 04-08-2007 05:52 PM

the film was so visually stunning I never found it to be slow

Goodings Media 04-08-2007 05:55 PM

no, it was the build-up to all the action that seemed slow. I know it was integral to the story, but I think films like gladiator (wow, how many times has/will this film be compared to that) handle these bits much better.

e.g. I think it relied on the narrative too much (I hate narrators in films)

Am I going to ruin the experience by watching it on a 42" plasma? should i hold off and go to the theater? The copy looks great and the sound is great. I'm going to try to watch it tonight after the Soprano's and entourage

Goodings Media 04-08-2007 05:58 PM

dude I watched it for the first time on a 12" laptop screen.... lol

Trade it in for a copy of Gladiator Extended Edition. Much better film IMHO.

That era is all about the storytelling though... I liked the narration.

No, hold off and go to the theatre. No home theatre is a replacement for the real big screen for a movie like this...

Even better if you have an IMAX in your area, they are also playing 300 :)

I'm going to check that out . I have to look and see where i can see it in IMAX

It wasn't a bad movie, BUT was like watching Gladiator and playing "Red Light Green Light" during the action scenes. At least it was only 90 mins long :)

MikeVega 04-09-2007 07:02 AM

I didn't watch it last night .. I'm going to look for the Imax today and if it's not playing close then I'll watch it tonight at home. I'm going to see if i can get Gladiator on blueray today also
