Hotlinker busted! Suggestions?
 

Well I just busted a hotlinker, any suggestions on how to slap this silly child?

His gallery is below: you can see the pics are coming from my domain and my host at www.lustengine.com and they are my pics that I purchased from xamo, Ron at xamo would be happy to confirm that.

As it turns out most of his site is one big massive hotlink, I am notifying others he is stealing from.

It a brand new box I just moved to, didnt set up htaccess yet. Its set up now though :)

if he does not pay it hire a lawyer where he lives and sue him in small claims court

that will freak him out, and might get you some money

Do what I do, create an image with the URL to your site on it. Then setup mod_rewrite to point every direct link that doesnt come from your domain to show this image.

Free advertising. Whenever he gets someone to the gallery it shows an image in every single spot that says "Come to www.mydomain.com -- more free porn" or something along those lines. Since he is using your bandwidth, make it useful at least.

I usually change the pictures to something extremely gay..and let them hotlink away..

I found a bunch of my stuff on there a couple of weeks ago, got a hold of his sponsors and host also. Of course I recieved the good old "the problem has been taken care of" e-mails. It looks as though it hasn't.

I had forgot to install htaccess on on e domain, fixed that.

http://www.adultz.tv is no more. Of course he probably just move his hotlinking factory to another domain.

Thanks for all your suggestions. My hotlinking protection is setup and working now. Buddys site has been taken down, my thanks to xamo and rackshack for their quick response.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons sites like Ah-Me have banned the entire rackshack IP block.

i used to change the picture to a swastika, but now i just use htaccess to disallow that for the most part

Replace the photos he's hotlinking with an image which is blank except for the words "Blow me!"
