When do you think we will hit Iraq?

http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/meast/....us/index.html

It is obviously going to happen... So... Whatcha think?

My guess would be shortly after the anniversary of 9-11...

Make Porn, not war ...

SykkBoy 08-15-2002 12:11 AM

I've always thought that the whole Afghanistan thing was a big diversion to ultimately get Saddam Hussein.....
I think the more we talk about it, the less likely we are to do it...just keep them guessing...anticipation is usually worse than the punishment inflicted....

remember the dread of the "dad spanking" that was sure to come when he got home from work to be told by your mother that you pissed in your sister's dollhouse while speaking gibberish to her Barbies? that kind of dread and fear of the unknown was usually worse than the actual beating........

asuna 08-15-2002 12:16 AM

I hardly doubt Bushie will do it.. not for a while...
Im not going to get into deep details and get flamed, but he won't do it for a certain reason....

Good points sykk.. The other night on msnbc someone said that all the talk in the news is just the begining of the disinformation routine. This way we keep sadaam running in circles trying to figure out what we are up to...

Could be truth to it, could be bs..

This conflict in Afghanistans ultimate goal is to get a pipeline through there that has been planned for quite some time. The United States did not like the idea of a fundamentalist Muslim regime controlling it and constantly cockblocking the world from having it. They are out of the way now and a puppet government installed that will suck the American tit. Afghanistan may as well become the 53rd state. Its ours.

http://www.commondreams.org/views01/1208-04.htm

The same way Kuwait was an Oil War, Afghanistan is the same. Except this time we do it under the guise of Operation Enduring Freedom, last time it was to liberate our Muslim friends in Kuwait. It just so happened that Bush family oil interests were in the same country... lucky us. Close call!

I dont think they will hit Iraq till after the Novermber elections. Bushmonkey is having a hard enough time as it is now and any fuckups before November would only hurt his party even more.

We only want Iraq because we are scared.

Scared that he will develop nuclear / chemical / biological weapons that he will inevitably turn on Israel and the United States. And we cant have someone questioning our authority can we? Certainly not.

kmanrox 08-15-2002 12:27 AM

all these conspiracy brothers..... its plain and obvious that saddam is bad for the world in general, all special interests aside... something must be done...

I don't think it is because we are scared. I would say it is the smart thing to do. Because we know what the man will do with such weapons. It's not like he doesn't have a track record or anything.

actually, I was accidently watching Phil Donahue the other night and there was a guy on there that explained the pipeline theory as well....interesting the one alternative route was running the pipeline through Iran...
very interesting indeed....fuck, I wish I had big oil interests...I bet I'd have enough power to have someone killed....or at least get Ben Affleck's leg broken...twice....

One tidbit of info...

Bin Ladens father was one of Bush Sr.'s investors for his oil company...

So we are scared he will use them on us?

Fuck yeah it is fear. You know what happens to Bush's re-election hopes if a nuke goes off in Florida or some chemical attack on soldiers while they are invading Iraq. And not just him, the Dems would use it to devastate the Republican party.

I am all for it. It will seal Bushs fate.

Bye bye career. He is scared shitless. I bet he doesnt sleep too well at night.

Brown Bear 08-15-2002 12:35 AM

I think a better question is will Bush be able to actually succeed at removing Saddam from power?

Because you can bomb the shit out the country destroy all the infrastructre, but its not gonna mean much unless they actually get Saddam and roast his ass for good.

Bush especially needs to get Saddam out of power since he said he was gonna do it......now he has to deliver or else he'll just look like a chump.

From what I've heard, since Bin Laden worked for the CIA (no shit), when Bush sr. did soe shit with the gulf war (too young to remeber/care, Im only 20) and then Bubba came for 8 years into the whitehouse, and hten as soon as Bush's son comes into office, boom.. also, theres a tape running underground, in arabic only, explaining how its an inside job, cause bin laden said it wasnt him, but he wished it was, and he said my hat (well turban) goes off to whoever did it, and if you wouldn't of done it, I would of..
or something to that point.. I could be wrong, I haven't watched the tape, just becasue since its banned from TV, and I already get teased about stuff like this, i don't need RCMP to kick my door down... -- again.. lol j/k
Bush isn't fighting back to full power cause america NEEDS enimes.... its sort of a payback for what his dad did.. I still thinks whoever DID do it.. if they aren't dead yet, public execution would be an option.. :D
My opinion..

[Labret] 08-15-2002 12:41 AM

The reason they did not go all the way before is because they knew what would happen if they did remove Saddam.

You would have all the other crazy despots taking over. At least when it is just Saddam he crushes all opposition and keeps the Muslim extremists under control. I find it ironic that people put Saddam in the same league as Osama, when the last thing Saddam wants in his country is extremism taking root in his country the same way it did in Iran.

You got the Kurds in the north and the Shiite Muslims in the south. And they both want power. Not too mention the other assorted crazies that would love to take over. At least in the last 10 years Iraq has been stable and we kept them caged in... right where we wanted him.

And despite all the sactions that were meant to make the people mad enough to overthrow him, it never worked. Instead the country starved to death.

They will take him out... but what then?

American feels better until the next one comes along. whoopdee doo.

asuna 08-15-2002 12:46 AM

if Madass... Sadam gets taken out, imagine how many like sadam believers in USA are gonna strike back
Not sure what happend in USA, i know that Sept 11 and 12, here in Montreal, at Concordia, they were dancing and giving out candy and just plain partying, those are the same people who would probably go on a killing frenzy if bin laden was actually captured... whether he did it or not

Joe Sixpack 08-15-2002 12:46 AM

It looks like a foregone conclusion that taxes are going up in the US.... somebody's gotta pay for all this bullshit war and it sure as hell isn't gonna be the rich.

They're the ones that will profit from it however.

Not really... Like I said its pure intelegence... If you knew that your neighbor was the anthrax mailier, would you report him because you were scared that he would posion your mail or would you report him because its the "smart" thing to do in order to avoid further casualities?
