They live to be about 12 y/o, and get up to 1.5 feet long (roughly), from what the chic @ the store says.

Warren 04-06-2007 01:50 PM

I've got one living in my bathroom, and another in the living room somewhere... Creepy when you can see it's silhouette when it climbs up the shower curtain :1orglaugh

Awesome reptile! I used to have 4 5-foot iguanas we kept in a huge enclosure attached to the house with a pond of 6 red-ear sliders, a bunch of fish and a huge ass tortoise.

Congrats on Herman, may he give you many hours of enjoyment! Amazing how even reptiles have personalities.

Yeah, I've been adding some little plants and such to his tank. Gotta figure out how to make it warmer for him though. I put a heating pad on the tank, but it only gets up to 70 degrees. Do those heat-rocks work well?

lot 04-09-2007 11:49 AM

Not my type of pet, def..

Egomancer 04-09-2007 11:52 AM

You should have got a snake...a big one...

Egomancer

Stallion 04-09-2007 11:52 AM

Voodoo use a heatrock and you can get special lighting that will really warm the cage up for the little fella.

teg0 04-09-2007 11:54 AM

lol Herman is a good name for it.

PersianKitty 04-09-2007 12:09 PM

My 19 year old son is a major reptile keeper. Among his collection are 4 gargoyle geckos (Rhacodactylus auriculatus). After his veiled chameleon, I think they are the kewlest looking things going. Easiest to care for too.

Those are awesome! I almost picked up a baby Chameleon so Herman has a friend this weekend, but I want to get the heat thing sorted out first.
