What are some nice places to stay in the USA?

We were thinking of visiting the USA for a few months at the start of next year and decided to take a look at apartments for rent online.

Some nice places out there, but not having been to America before and not knowing an awful lot about the good/bad neighbourhoods in any particular state, we decided to stick with some places that friends have visited or passed through on holiday in the past, and recommend due to them being 'nice areas'.

So I took a look at apartments on rent.com for Beverly Hills, CA and had the shock of a lifetime.

City: Beverly Hills
Address: 1013 N BEVERLY DR, BEVERLY HILLS, CA
Basics: 7 Bed, 7.5 Bath
Price: $35,000 / month

A little more expensive that we had imagined.

Bastards. Anyway, still on the lookout for a nice place to stay in the USA for a few months. It would be nice to be near the sea but it really isn't a must.

Any recommendations please?

San Francisco is nice but pricey. I can recommend some great restaurants and clubs, my ICQ is 112525461

Where else are you thinking of going? Vegas is always a winner.

It all depends on where you want to go diffrent states have diffrent prices. Are you wanting tourist attractions or what. You would have a bunch of options like staying in a state with a low cost of living (rent running around 400-500 a month) then if you want to go to the expensive places just fly there. but without know what you want to do while you were in the US then it would be hard to reccomend anything.

There are tons of smaller towns along the west coast that are alot cheaper than SF or Beverly. Beverly Hills is a ridiculous place to stay. lol Its not all that anyhow.

And there are nice motels that have suites complete with kitchenettes that go by the month. Staying in Cali or moving around LD?

If you DO stay in Cali, please remember the rest of this country isn't so chock full of nutcases. :1orglaugh

There are some places on the "must see" list, including New York (shopping) and Las Vegas strip. Not old enough to drink or gamble there, but it would still be a nice place to visit.

Always wanted to go to New York since my parents went there for anniversary when I was a kid, and brought back a lot of cool pictures and couldn't say enough good things about the place.

Looking to stay in a semi-quiet place, a small apartment, and travel to attractions as we see fit.

I fyou hit NYC, do yourself a favor and jump in the PATH train over to Hoboken, NJ. The main street in that little town is wall to wall bars that kick ass. Check out the Good N' Plenty, that place was fucking fun! Also home of one of the best fucking steak houses on Earth, Arthur's

Just don't get arrested, Union County cops like to beat down drunks who get outta line. Hell, they'll beat down your momma if she gets outta line.

Visit Florida if you get a chance.

Miami is pretty nice, and you could probably rent a place on south beach for a month or two for a decent price.

If you are travelling, and want to visit some nice places, you should go down to Key West.

Stay here:

It is very nice. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Call this guy to take you out fishing:

http://www.captainronsfishingcharters.com/

He takes care of all the details, has a nice boat, and I always catch a variety of fish when I go out on a charter with him.

While you are in Key West make a reservation here:

great food, great wine, great service

I agree, that bites, but the place is great. They have a very nice pool, jacuzzi, and you can sunbath on the roof of one of their buildings. Plus they will arrange scuba, snokling, or fishing trips for you, and they are close to everything.

if you want to see NYC, and have a nice cheapie stay, I say stay in my hometown of Philadelphia and take a train up the city.

The rooms are cheap here and there is also a TON of the US historical sites, as well as a great food and enterainment scene here. Home of the Cheesesteak and soft pretzel!!!!

If you want info on whats happening here, toss me a shout on ICQ 160541645
