Giuliani just lost the GOP nomination
 

"TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN Wednesday he supports public funding for some abortions, a position he advocated as mayor and one that will likely put the GOP presidential candidate at odds with social conservatives in his party.

"Ultimately, it's a constitutional right, and therefore if it's a constitutional right, ultimately, even if you do it on a state by state basis, you have to make sure people are protected," Giuliani said in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash in Florida's capital city."

he has a lot of flaws as far as the republicans are concerned and will have trouble getting the support of the religious right which just about any republican will need to win the white house next year.

He is personally pro-life but says that abortion should be legal ( and the above statement really backs that up)

He is for gun control.

He cheated on his wife even going so far as to bring his girlfriend to the governors mansion and banging her while his wife was out of town.

The religious zealots on the right don't want to hear any of those three things about a candidate they support.

I don't think he pissed off anyone that was going to vote for him anyways.

If the republicans don't nominate someone like Guiliani they're going to get trounced in '08.

Guiliani would make a very interesting 3rd party candidate though.

Fred Thompson is going to get the nomination. :2 cents: My prediction is if he gets the nomination, he will be President.

If the Libertarians could just get our common sense approach out to the public we'd be hard to stop but we simply cant raise 26M for a candidate during the primaries

Seems to be a good guy and knows how to talk.
