Is hip hope dead in the uk it aint
Do you think hip hop is dead, nas does and apparently so does 50 cent. personally i dont think it is, i think that due to the popularity that hip hop has gained within the last ten yrs or so hip hop has jut become alot more commercial, but the simple fact as far as im concerened is that its no necessarily dead just different from what it used to be, now i believe its more about the money than the money.
im just kinda curious to see what you guys think anyways i think that uk rappers are still doing it for the music simply cos their isnt that much money to be made in rap in the uk. and while im on this i figure ill post a couple links to some of the british hip hop that i love sooo much, let me know what u think. https://youtube.com/watch?v=KpVtCMIYp1U https://youtube.com/watch?v=kZGvnI37mxk https://youtube.com/watch?v=Gme1YN-qZV8 https://youtube.com/watch?v=C3X3tueteEs https://youtube.com/watch?v=RwiDqY2pr54 https://youtube.com/watch?v=isI2SS02vQ8 https://youtube.com/watch?v=Qr-m7LN-kl4 their are just some of the uk stuff that ive been listening to let me know what you think |
When did 50 Cent say hip hop was dead? He's the idiot who's helping kill it.
|
Oh, by the way, that's grime, not really hip hop. Grime is more of an offshoot of garage / 2-step. It's definitely hip hop influenced, though.
Can't wait for Dizzee's new album to drop. |
its been dead for nearly 10 years.

Let's put it this way, Hip Hop in mainstream's been dead for many years now. 50 didn't kill it, Tupac, Biggie, Snoop, everyone in the gangsta rap genre before 50 killed it. 50's just not helping the cause.
Sure, there's perhaps 1 or 2 smaller artists that breathe Hip Hop, but the masses in Rap easily drown out their voice. |

altho i do kinda see ya point on the whole gangsta rap killing hip hop thing, cos even tho i think ice cube for example is a sick sick rapper, i would much rather listen to the likes of common, mos def, and talib kweli |

Hip-hop isn't dead, It's just evolved into something that alot of people consider worse than it's ever been. There are so many other places to find hip-hop other than what you see on MTV or hear on the radio, etc.etc. There are independent artist out there doing their thing and doing it better than your 50 cents, Ying Yang Twins, Yung Joc, etc.etc.
|
hip hop isn't dead we are all getting too old to know where to find it:2 cents:

You're Dutch, you brought the world no limits and DJSven (the holiday rap) Dutch people should not be allowed to voice their opinions on hip hop.. hehehehe |
they said hiphop.. groups like krsone - j5 - jdilla - aceaylone - beatjunkies are real hip hop.
50cent is crap rap. or disco to the 80's |
Indeed,50 Cent is crap and he is one of the persons who slowly but surely is killing hip-hop/rap.
|
Lady Sovereign is overly annoying but also disturbing because she looks and talks like just about every other girl in my town.
|
btw that lady sovereign is pretty hot... the music still sucks though
|
One more thing i`d like to say. Listen to Nas - Hip-hop is dead !
