Anyone Have A Pair Of The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones?

I am a cheap fuck and will not spend $400+ for fucking headphones... However I am being swayed now because I tried on Dennis's from Worldsex's pair and they sounded fucking AMAZING and they cancel out the engine noise.

I fly pretty often so I am thinking of maybe splurging on them.

Do any of you guys own a pair?

DH

I use a pair of these Sennheiser's for monitoring, but I like them for listening as well. They sound really nice, people can't hear the music and you cant hear them.

Real durable too.. the phones collapse and rotate every which way so when you accidently sit on them its usually all good.

And they're only $150 or so.. cheaper if you can find them on ebay.

Sennheiser HD280 Pro BTW.

Yes I do, they are really nice, they do the job, but to be quite honest, there are headphones out there that are half the price and are just as good. AND I AM a music lover and a lover of total silence. I really didn't find them that special and I love bose, I have them in my bedroom and no matter what I do, they won't blow (ref to quality) but........

price doesn't always = high quality. They market them damn well though. But that is what it is..... Marketing.

OMG - I was totally going to suggest those head phones too. They ROCK! Read some user reviews on them. I bought them because they were called "the Bose killers". I just flew with them, and didn't need noise canceling at all (Which I've used many times before, so I'm not just talking out of my ass). Couldn't hear anything but perfect music. And btw, they are only around $80 now. Got mine from JR a couple weeks ago. Free shipping.

Be sure to wear a pair of the 'on the ear' headphones for a few hours before buying a pair. They personally hurt my ears by pressing them into my head, that's why I went for the 'over the ear' design.

esnem 04-03-2007 05:07 PM

i have the qc2's, the qc3's look kinda gay how they sit on your ears. i'm surprised poppy doesn't have them actually...

turn them on when you're on the plane and it's crazy the difference it makes -not on a plane i can't really tell the difference because i don't really give a shit about sound.

I have those (or similar) that were recommended to me. I LOVE them. I use them for the ipod on the plane and to hook up for movies. The noise canceling is also good. What's nice is that they work on regular batteries, so I can carry an extra pair in my pocketbook (until the TSA outlaws those too) instead of having it die on me and having to wait to recharge.

i have the qc3s , they are pretty nice, hella comfortable.

MissMina 04-07-2007 08:50 PM

$400.00 for headphones? Maddon! I bet they're worth every penny.

[ Nate ] 04-07-2007 09:09 PM

I don't have a pair of the noise canceling ones, but I do have a normal pair of Bose headphones and they are unbelievable....I love them! A friend of mine has the noice canceling set, and they are bad ass!

SomeCreep 04-07-2007 11:22 PM

I use regular ear plugs, they work great. Cost about 3 dollars.

DeadFidel 04-07-2007 11:36 PM

If you watch Bose's commercial, and they say 6 easy payments?...of what? There are so many that do the same job for a 1/4 of the price. Go to B+H photo.
Ask about the filter materials, that's a generic factor in there success.

Why 04-08-2007 02:28 AM

well why the hell did you ask for advice if you didnt want it and bought them anyways. i fuckign hated my bose phones, i broke 2 pair and stopped buying them, now i use sony ones and wont go back. i listen to music at least an hour a day with them on, and on long haul flights all over the place. cant hear shit on flights, trains or big city streets during the day. the bose i cant say performed for me as well. over priced pieces of crap IMHO, kind of like apple in many ways.

BigBen 04-08-2007 02:52 AM

I have a pair of Sennheiser PX200 headphones that I wear everyday while I work and they're awesome headphones. I listened to a number of brands, including expensive Bose headphones, and these blew everything out of the water. They aren't noise cancelling or anything, but they have killer quality and comfort and are some of the best I've heard.

Imo, Bose has done a great marketing job, but their product is not up to par. If you want quality, go with Sennheiser. Lot's of models to choose from.

Also... I've heard good things about "Shure" earbuds, so that might be a company to check out.

Humpy Leftnut 04-08-2007 03:04 AM

I've had a pair of Fosgates, 3 pairs of Sennheisers, AKG's, old ratty pair of Sony 600's (current) some of those ear canal ones (bout $100) and by far the best pair were the Fosgate's. You'll see them on a lot of studio singers when they're doin their thing.. But they're big, heavy and clunky, so maybe not your thing. Also they're not great for travelling, because they don't like "lock" in place, they slide if you try to run and whatnot.. Alas, I inadvertently gave my pair away.

As for having a clue? Still no idea. Just listen and buy the pair you like the sound of, best advice you can get.

Pipecrew 04-08-2007 03:11 AM

i had no idea those were so much, i have 2 pairs sitting here that i never use.

jmk 04-08-2007 04:31 AM

noise cancelling rocks and Bose rocks, even if they are expensive, I can actually hear a difference in sound quality.

Kimo 04-08-2007 05:59 AM

$tandaman 04-08-2007 10:28 AM

Blingbaby 04-09-2007 02:44 AM

They are good and cancel out noise in all sorts of ways, but fuck can these fucks invest in some thicker cables? Once you bend those fucker too much they are toast.. and so is your $400 bucks..
