Program to change the HASH of a video file
I need a program (preferably freeware) that I can run a dixv, wmv, or m4v video file through and it changes the hash of a video file without reencoding it or cutting any of it off. I know I saw one on here during the P2P marketing heyday but can't find it now. Anyone?
Let me apologize in advance for this biz thread. :error |
Give me a link to a program and I'll think about it!
|
Doh! Someone deleted the GFYbot post that told me to kiss his ass. I swear I wasn't talking to myself in that second post, but since this is a biz thread I'd might as well have been. :(

technically that shouldn't be possible without altering the file.
it would kinda defeat the purpose of a hash |
To change the hash (MD5/SHA/etc), you're going to have to subtly alter it somehow, even if you're just tacking a load of noise to the end and hoping that the format allows. :1orglaugh
Oh, hey, Darksoul, LTNS! (tpb here) |

hi there! :) I was wondering where you went |
For DiVX, MPEG-2 or any AVI container, what you can likely do is install VirtualDub(MPEG variant), load it, tell it to 'not process, direct copy' both the audio and video stream, save as...
This won't technically change the encoding, but it will change the container; as it will rewrite small bits (creator, etc), you will have a different hash. ..as far as wmv and m4v, you're kind of fucked for free or non-conversion tools. Quote:

probably mplayer works as good if you pass it through another format and then back I'm sure some bits will change.

It was probably AVITools, but that only works for AVI.. so I'm confused. Who knows? :helpme |
I used to use VirtualDubMode scripting to cut a frame off - that makes the files different in the eyes of the p2p software
basically you take one video file as input and then create say 1000 by cutting s ingle frame one at a time |
if you really don't want to cut any of it off (no idea why) then you can prbably do it by adding watermark to one frame less
say your video has 20 000 frames file one has 19 999 watermarked frames file two 19 998 and so on well, just a raw idea - it might work?!? |

I know I saw a program someone found on here that changed the header of video files, so that the hash would change on it. Wish I had bookmarked it. |
