|
i grew up with KIT...those were the days...
|
I believe there are many "KITs" out there. The guy from NSYNC owns one.
|
Guys guys... it's KITT, not KIT.

I don't know if it's because it really was made that poorly or if it's because I've grown a bitter dislike of David Hasseldork. |

The cars were heavily modified to work for different reasons. Some for jumps, some for donut turns ... etc. There's a guy who will customise you a Trans-Am for a fee into a fully working KITT... interior and exterior. Knightridersite.com I'm gonna get one :) |
I remember the ones they actually used for the stunts on the show used really tiny fuel cells as well, so if they crashed really bad there wasn't any chance of an explosion. The thing would probably only drive about 20 km before you had to fill it up again. Sounds like the one in the auction was just used as a camera car.

i thought some movie actor owned it :\

Thats fucking awesome.
|
That's a great investment. What girl wouldn't want to do it in KITT? even if she doesn't really dig you, it's worth it for the story. If I wasn't already married ...

loool arggg i want to puke... |
There were at least 4-5 cars to start. 1 'Hero' car that Hoff drove, 1 Camera car that was used specifically for the trailer sequences, a 3rd 'Stunt' car modified w/ only a roll bar, a 'Jump' car which was was really just a shell and a 'Robot' car that had the modified driving controls in the backseat w/ a tarp to hide the driver. Some say that the 'Hero' car Hoff drove had the backseat controls, so there were only 4 cars when they started.
More were made throughout the show and the 4th and final season had 4 more KITT's created for his super pursuit mode and convertible modes. The convertible mode never drove, it was towed in all sequences :1orglaugh The Hoff sold his car, but over time after the show was over, KITT would still show up with him at various events and, well, music videos. https://youtube.com/watch?v=RE4k-eOOxaE |

You guys remember a few months ago someone posted a pic of a guys massive exotic car collection? My dream is to be so rich that I can have a car collection of famous cars from tv shows. KITT from knight rider, that car from Hardcastle & McCormick, the motorcycle from street hawk, The General Lee and Boss Hog's Cadillac from the Dukes of Hazard, The Black Van from The A-Team, the Ferrari from Magnum PI etc. I would drive around town in those cars. But whatever car I drove, I would wear the outfit of the character when I drove it. If it was the van from the A-Team I would have a Mohawk and gold chains. If it was Boss Hogs Cadillac, I would have an all white suit.If it was KITT I would have a perm and that black "members only" jacket Hasselhoff used to where.
People who see the car and they would be impressed. Then they would see me in my outfit and laugh at me. I would laugh too. Not because I look like a fool, but because the people laughing at me are too poor to ever own their own dream car. :). |
What was the other move. Automan or some shit?? Remember that car?
