Trouble with chargebacks - any way around it?

i booked a club package for $300 for new years, which was just guranteed getting into the place for a few people. so the night before new years i stopped at the casino and checked it out and all it was was a circle bar in the middle of the hotel. i called for a refund and they denied me. on their site they had it listed as an "upscale venue" and described it like it was a nice club. i tried to charge it back but amex just sent me a mail saying the chargeback was denied. is there a way to get it back or am i screwed? from us porn people getting screwed over on chargebacks i didnt think they could do anything if there wasnt a signature, and i never signed anything.

maybe Amex is different?

I've always heard that amex was really good about letting people chargeback.

I've heard the opposite about Amex, they always take the merchants side.

Usually if you have signed something, its very difficult to charge back. Without a signature you can charge EVERYTHING back. just say you dont recognize the transaction.

too bad for us porn ppl, nobody signs the CC receipt :(

Correct sire.

One of the reasons I do not have one.

It's difficult to do a chargeback with a written receipt, but I did it twice with Amex without any problems. I told them that it was a fraudulent transaction since I didn't get what I paid for and asked if I'd have to do it via a lawyer.

"Fraud", "Lawyer", "Lawsuit", "Sue", "Scam" are the keywords that mean more work for them, more costs for them...worked for me.

Just say your son used your card. That usually works on all third party billers.

That's the way.

Also tell them where they can stick their card. I will not buy anything on the Net unless I can charge it back.
