My nu Phoenix Forum Networking Story
So there I am at dinner one night at Phoenix Forum with a group of people I don't know. The truth is I tend to be shy in groups of people I don't know, but that night I decided to ignore my faults and just make new friends. So I made sure to sit in a group of people whom I didn't know.
I start talking to this well dressed bald headed chap. The conversation started with where we were from. Turns the man I was talking to was Scott from TushyCash. It turns out he's from New Jersey.
I was born in NJ, and was raised in a very small town called "Califon". No one has ever heard of it. Turns out Scott lives right up the road from Califon NJ.
Next the conversation turns to how we got into the business. I told my usual story about Steve Lightspeed, 1995, blah blah blah.
So Scott tells me the following story......
While in college Scott was surfing the Internet and found Tawnee Stone. I'm not sure if he signed up for it or not, but he ended up clicking on the webmaster link. He ended up buying a mispelled domain name of Tawnee Stone, signing up as an affiliate, and started to push traffic to Lightspeed Cash. Later he bought content from "Coconut Content" which was a store Lightspeed Cash had to sell it's own content.
I found it funny how we had been doing business for years but had never met. Small world indeed.
