$$ Need to hire htaccess/htpasswd guru for fixes $

I am using wordpress to manage a friends paysite cause he was too cheap to buy a real CMS and after all my mods it's actually a pretty sweet setup but I can't seem to get the .htpasswd htaccess and WP's htaccess to play nice together they won't work together.

Also I can't figure out why htpasswd is making people type their user/pass in a second time when it hits a page with an embedded WMV.. very annoying.

So if you are good with htaccess and can fix, can I buy some of your time?? :helpme

When they hit a movie behind a protected area, the media player needs to request authorization seperately from the browser. It is a seperate program making the request to the server. That's why you get 2 prompts.

right, that's what I figured it was doing, however I swear my other site doesn't do it. Perhaps it's cause I'm using a mac and it cached the login already or something.

So I assume there's no way around the double login on the embedded videos?

If you embed the WMV file into the body of a web page it won't ask for another authentication. But if you'd rather have Windows Media Player pop-up the player, then the second challenge/response box will appear.

ok, so my videos are embedded and still promting for another user/pass, how can that be then.. there's no DRM in them, and I'm just using a simple embed code.
