I can't see shit

Just a quick little update for my well-wishers...

I went almost totally blind (and almost totall nuts). In addition to severe high blood pressure it turned out I suffered from severe intracranial hypertension (hig cerebrospinal fluid pressure).

A neurologist discovered the problem just over a week ago and drained excess pressure, started treating me with medication... we'll see how that goes, surgery may rurn out to be necessary or not.

It seems the cause of all the problems may be in my kidneys and that's as far as the medical sleuthing has gotten; I'm scheduled to see a kidney specialist on the10th.

No idea what's wrong with the kidneys and what might be done about them but I'm hoping.

I've had slighyt inprovement in vision since the brain drain (spinal tap) , I still can't see what I'm typing but I managed to log in and find the "new thread" button. Doc says my optic nerves are badly swollen and the swelling could take weeks or months to go down.

He's not making promises about my vision... The ophthalmologist said there was permanent damage, my neurologist says in cases like mine the damage "usually isn't" permanent. I guess I can flip a coin.

Thanks for "listening". I don't get to do much but whine and bitch these days, although I'm working on some alternatives. ;) Just kidding, I installed a washing machine today... made me feel pretty good.
Hoping to be back soon.. catch you all around.

Read much?

Anyway, hang in there man..... I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it, fix you up and you'll be good as new in no time.

It's good to hear that you've had some improvements already so far.

I be hangin'. :) I should really stop announcing things on Sunday morning though.

Do not let your tree fall in the forest ehen there's no one there to hear it...
Drop it through the skylight at the Galleria on Thanksgiving Day Weekend.
