>> Can people keep clicking on your PPC Campaign to drive up your cost?
Just wondering if someone wanted to be a jerk and click on your PPC paid links like over and over again just to make you pay what your keyword bid is? Does it count the hits by unique IP or just number of times clicked?
I wonder if what I'm describing happens alot or not? Thanks. |
I'm thinking the PPC engines would charge you per UNIQUE clicks, otherwise many advertisers would get mighty pissed off...
|
All I'm saying is I haven't added any campaigns or raised my keyword bids and the clicks have been rising up a ton lately.
|
It is well know that many PPC brokers have armies of 3rd world workers that sit on computers and click banners and links all day long.
I've witnessed it first hand for mainstream. |
I'm talking about Yahoo here, that is currently the only PPC traffic I have EVER purchases to date.
|
its possible.
just write a bot to click the ads and run it through a bunch of proxies. |
I tell ya, there is always somebody out to fuck somebody else...

Sadly this is true - a webmaster I know that is heavly into mainstream PPC marketing told me recently that these days he suspects that over 10% of the clicks he pays for are falsely generated and he only uses Yahoo and Google who are *supposed* to be very pro-active in reducing click fraud. |
Yes, I have never purchased any other PPC traffic besides Yahoo. Just yesterday I got setup with Google adwords and will start that campaign as soon as I get approved.
I'm going to call Yahoo today and see what they can tell me about click fraud and how they protect against it. Anyone else care to comment on this matter? |
