Every thread I've ever started has been biz-related

Fact.

My joke threads? -- webmasters/admins/photogs/content/program owners etc all need humor to stay sane, especially those of us working from home.

TV show-related threads? -- simple.. webmasters need distraction to keep them sane too. A life OFF the computer is important, even if that life only extends as far as the boob tube.

Food threads? -- A webmaster's gotta eat. Our health is important.

Music threads? -- Hell yes it's biz-related. I have tunes playing all day long while I work, it's a much a part of my biz as anything else. It's vital to my sanity.

What about my long-winded posts where I'm disagreeing with someone about some seemingly non-biz-related topic such as the war on terror, the war on illegal immigrants, the war on Bush, etc? --- Yep, all biz-related. Webmasters need distraction from work in other ways, ways that stimulate the mind and get them thinking about the world around them.

All of it serves to feed the mind, body and soul of the hard-working community members we have here.

So in short, everything I basically say is biz-related in some way. Can you say the same?

:D

You're right, but why the "no" in front of your post? Nowhere did I say that business is done ON the board, so your "no" is a little off.

I said my posts are biz-related.

And they are.

All of them.

Period.

Even the :1orglaugh ones.

Cheers.

Absolutely that is a biz post. It incites conflict, which is good interaction for the webmaster who works from home and otherwise has no life. Conflict = sig views = new biz.

Good post.

No justification, no rationalization... just good solid logic and reason with a smattering of sublime wisdom and a pinch of salt.

Chicken soup for the webmaster, as it were.

Yes, even this type of post, lame though it may be, serves a valuable purpose--

it bumps the biz thread to the top. Sometimes all a thread needs is a well-timed bump with an otherwise useless post in order for it to catch fire.

Nicely posted.

Well, honestly I start a lot of relationship threads because this is the only place I have to ask questions and receive a relatively unbiased answer, I don't have a lot of friends/acquaintances to consult with in real life. Plus I prefer asking on this board because it's a rather fast moving board and therefore I get faster feedback.

Plus I feel people on forums can be more honest at times than people in real life because it's relatively anonymous. If I make a thread like "have you ever cheated on your significant other" I feel like people are more likely to be honest here than if I were to ask someone in real life.

Some people probably think I'm a fake character because I have so many fucked up threads but the truth is that I'm just a really dysfunctional person with lots of problems.

My life is so dysfunctional they could probably make a reality series out of it. No one would believe me if I say all the things that goes on.

I don't create a lot of biz threads even though I'm in the biz because I'm not a very outspoken person. I'm always quiet and shy and introverted, it's like I'm afraid of being ridiculed or something or not being taken seriously or being questioned, I have a lot of doubt and don't feel secure in everything I say business wise. Well, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

I am not afraid to debate about personal things though, like relationships, for some reason.

Healthy relationships are important to the webmaster. When we are out of sorts with a significant other it can get in the way of running one's business properly, so of course such threads are biz-related.
