where does paid traffic come from?

Im quite sure everyone has seen the traffic ads lately on all the boards offering traffic as low as 2.50 per one thousand uniqiues. Oh yes and then the really good (clicked traffic) for 5-8 dollars per one thousand uniques. Is traffic really that bad you can sell it for 5 dollars?

So heres my question for the traffic sellers out there. Where does your traffic originate from? Im not talking about what the actual end referrer is but instead where is the actual point of origin?

Or will you not give us this information to protect your sources. Ive got this horrible feeling all your traffic gets filtered through every single sponsor on the net before it finally reachs our sites.

So please do me the honor of either confirming or disclaiming my theory. Is your (clicked traffic) basically just Circle Jerked horse shit which is then turned magically into (clicked traffic) right before it hits my site?

I've only bought from one person, and they used a bunch of TGP traffic. It was very productive traffic @ 6.00 per 1,000.

Chinese traffic is also very productive like usually 600% but they dont own a credit card. So how many sales did you make?

gothweb 08-13-2002 09:44 AM

Most sold traffic comes from TGP sites.

As for "original point of origin".. That's a slippery thing to track. What point in my surfing is my point of origin? The first site I go to when I start up? Or a site along the way that I intended to go to? or what?

If it is any help, so far I am having no luck with bought content. AdBuyTraffic was a joke, and sadly, even Choker's traffic, which I hear is excellent, isn't converting for me. 0:2000 so far.

You using your goth tgp? If you check choker's site(s) I don't think he even has that niche up.

AdBuyTraffic was 0:25,000 even after a couple of weeks. So nobody even came back and signed up after bookmarking the site.

0:2000 so far isn't so bad... not everyone signs up when they first come to a site, and all of that traffic was in the last day. Hopefully it will pick up a bit. Alas, mostly, this is nothing wrong with Choker's traffic... My site just doesn't convert general traffic well. Niche site.

Not hardly dude. All my traffic I sell I generate my self. I buy top spots on many huge sites to feed my tgps. I get very little Asian traffic. Gothweb sorry it did not work out for you. That is why I offer ANY buyer to a refund of the traffic I have not sent with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Some sites my traffic just does no good on. Question for you: I see tons of new Goth sites on the web every day. Is there really enough surfers that are into this stuff?? My point is that I think there are way too many Goth sites and not enough Goth surfers. Supply and demand thingy in effect here I believe. I personally do not think there is enough Goth surfers to even put up a Goth category on my tgps, and I have a category for just about everything under the sun already.
