I sure hope its better than tiberian sun or generals
they need to go back to the original command & conquer or red alert... fuck that new shit they've been trying to do

it is indeed very good

the missions are ok (although i walk right through them)

and multiplayer/skirmish is allways good fun!

I had a look at the demo and it seemed to show a lot of the supreme weapons that just piss you off - the Atom bombs etc etc? Is the game just a race to build these or is it as tactical as the old games used to be? Those big weapons pissed me off something cronic......

This is the new version that came out a few days back.

You need a nice computer, and decent video card to play it through. I always liked the cut scenes you had in the first few. This one's full of them. You have Park Grace, Jennifer Morrison, Michael Ironside and others. The graphics are subperb.

The movements, and such are a bit different. But you do have the choice in the AI you want to face, whether easy or hard (it's a bit more complex on how you want your enemy to balance things.. i.e. attack you from the get go, balanced, the waiting to build up and fight head on, etc).

It took a little getting used to with the new interfaces, and such. But once you do, it's nice. I always play through these games once to figure them out blasting through them, then go back and play in true strategy.

Yeah, supposedly. I've been playing a few days (although I do my regular work, so I am not playing 24/7 and sitting in the dark, in my own feces to beat the game) and I have not come across all the fancy weaponry.

There are some nice things they added. Like saboteurs who can glide in. Also more intelligent soldiers. So if they are attacked, they actually all swarm on the attackers. Unlike the old where they would stand there half the time, or close by units would not move.

As before, as you are going through the game you get more technology.

One thing I do not much care for is the grandious awards and shit after a mission. Although it is structured more for strategy, and you get a lot more objectives, secret objectives, and so on.

A lot of the same ole tricks work with splitting into groups and spreading them out, garrisoning buildings, and all that stuff to slaughter anyone who comes near..take out their aircraft, etc.

But after you get used to the speed, movement modifications, and some of the new tweaks, it is nice. You have a LOT of the cut scene/eva/ava the dudes fucking talking to you while going through missions.

Oh, one annoyance (helpful if playing for strategy) is that intelligence thing going off every 30 seconds. You get a lot of detail in that. Which is nice for noobs to the series, and probably if you were going through to win via strategy. But when I go through these games first, it's swamp, and overrun. So when you are playing fast paced, that if very annoying.

Over all so far, a good game with a lot of punch.

I only made it through the training stuff on the demo. I should start it back up and play some more and see if I want to buy the full game.

played through some of the demo, just too slow paced for me. It has got really good reviews though. Maybe my pc is just to slow to run it at a decent fps

waiting to build a new computer to play Supreme Commander and C&C 3. Those games need good machines to play.

Yes they do. They are graphics heavy, and PC/DVD. So you need a computer with a min. of 2 Ghz, and a GForce4 or higher.

Of course, you know that it's always best to have higher than the minimum when possible.

I've been playing both Supreme Commander and C&C 3 -- they are both fun in their own right, and quite different. I can't pick a favorite, really.

There are definately some changes in the AI for C&C 3. That's for sure. That ole mass up an huge army and blitzkreig the others doesn't work like the days of old.

A couple of tips I've come across...

When playing NOD, uses your fanatics. Lots of them.

Also when you build your base, make use of your guns, and lasers. You'll need em. GDI's APC's are a real pest.

Lastly, garrison everything you can. GDI will. You will have a hell of a time going through an entire city of garrisoned buildings....

I saw the game at a friend of mine,it looks great,all the Command And Conquer games were great,my favorite one was Red Alert but this one rocks too!

Yep, I agree. I love Red Alert.

I go back and beat all the C&C games prolly once every 12 months. I noticed last time I went through RA that Kane was back in the first one. He was Stalin's assistant.
