If you are not at the Phoenix Forum

you really have to ask yourself why.

There is no doubt that the Forum rules over any other show that I have attended, at strangely, it only seems to get better every year.

Sherrie from CCBill is to be congratulated for putting it all together . . . with the help of all the sponsors, of course.

Seriously, if you can only go to one show a year, this is the one to come to.

seeric 03-30-2007 02:15 AM

i'll be there in 12 hours with news that icann has killed .xxx in a bigger way than before.

Some Guy 03-30-2007 02:17 AM

I went last year and had a blast, but my new girlfriend won't let me go this year 'cause she isn't able to go with me to supervise my drunken antics. Next year for sure, though!

Nodtveidt 03-30-2007 02:23 AM

Hopefully I'll be able to attend next year.

TeenCat 03-30-2007 02:26 AM

i wish i will be somewhere with you all in next, i hope not so much, years :winkwink: after three months in biz i will be really useless there now :thumbsup

we need to talk before you start to party

Sarah_Jayne 03-30-2007 04:09 AM

because it is a very long flight that I have done for the previous two years in a row and I am going to visit my folks in June and it was just too many really long haul flights in such a period..especially with a pug and a spaniel to leave behind these days

dynastoned 03-30-2007 04:17 AM

if it would have been a month later i coulda made it. :(

mortenb 03-30-2007 04:31 AM

I'm not really sure how a gathering like that is going to help my business. I usually do all my deals by e-mail or instant messengers, so what would the benefit be for me?

What is in it for affiliates?

Gaybucks 03-30-2007 05:03 AM

If you're an affiliate with a decent amount of traffic, YOU are who many of the sponsors and program owners want to talk to at Phoenix Forum.

We didn't go this year due to a heavy workload, but at every past show, we've met many new affiliates and worked out great, mutually beneficial deals with them. We've also met and worked with other sponsors, content providers, various infrastructure providers... you really can't get a good handle on just how useful it is to spend "face time" with people until you actually go and do it.

I also second the comment about Sherri and her AMAZING skill at putting that show together... having worked with her closely as a sponsor of the Gay Phoenix Forum, I've constantly been just floored at how amazing she is at keeping everything on track and consistently producing a better show than the previous year's event.

Lets say for example that an affiliate has maybe 1 mill uniques per day. What sort of deal would you think could be made in a more efficient way face to face than it could be made online? The thing that bothers me is that the deal has to be quite a bit better to offset the expenses that a business trip like that will have.

It always looks to me like all the people that go to the conventions are the same people that always go and that they use it more as a vacation with their friends than as an actual business trip.

StuartD 03-30-2007 05:22 AM

I hope those of you who are there or going, have a great time. I love the Phoenix show but the start of this year has kinda forced me to be house bound thus far.

MattO 03-30-2007 06:18 AM

I have a good reason not to be there. It involves the arrival of a new baby.

Mr. Romance 03-30-2007 06:20 AM

It is the best show for sure

Mr. Romance

Ross 03-30-2007 07:10 AM

Why do we have to ask ourselves why? Its not the be all and end all.

Sure it might be a good show but people have good reasons not to be there. I hate threads like this from people spouting a lot of rubbish.

very simple actually . . .

1.) I'm a content shooter, shooting exclusive content only, no hard core sex other than POV on occasion for a few select clients. . I really could only handle one, possibly two more clients, maybe . . .

2.) I don't use drugs including alcohol

3.) and I damn sure don't need to see any 'nakid' models

4.) I work prolly about 60+ hrs a week and prefer to spend my free time with my family

JayDeeZee 03-30-2007 07:56 AM

I wish I was there! But.....I'm leaving to get married soon and have too much work to do.

stickyfingerz 03-30-2007 08:32 AM

I was supposed to be there. :disgust

pornbilly 03-30-2007 09:16 AM

Next year for surrrrrrrrrrre! :)

fuzebox 03-30-2007 09:18 AM

I really wanted to go again this year, and had to cancel at the last minute because I hadn't met the deadlines I set for myself for my newest project. I figured it was the responsible thing to do.

LiveDose 03-30-2007 09:21 AM

Why am I not at the show?

Ah, now I feel better, thanks.

Ditto. I was out of the country a month ago, leaving again in 2 weeks and then again at the end of April. I'm a homebody and I actually love travel but hate leaving the house - and pugs :) Plus AZ comes at a bad time of year for me. I can't see me ever going to that particular show.

So, I asked myself "Why?" and came up with an answer I can live with - thanks for thinking about us BD :thumbsup

I agree it's a great show... but sometimes other things take precedence over attending a webmaster event ;)

Hope you are having fun baddog!

tASSy 03-30-2007 10:19 AM

i was planning on going until the middle of the night before my flight. lee.loo spent the night having seizures and now i have to give her doggy valium and watch her to make sure she doesn't have rapid blood pressure loss, ceases breathing or anything else scary. i wish were there!

Maybe get a bigger place so that EVERYONE can be at one place. It's been selling out two years in a row...so maybe just maybe you should find a bigger place.

eroswebmaster 03-30-2007 12:38 PM

I have always enjoyed the forum, however the last one I went to I saw the writing on the wall...it used to be "small" affair, and now it's turning into another tgp kiddie hang out. :(

Didn't you tell us that your recent move to the East was keeping you too busy to go to a porn event? `12clicks should have insisted that you go to Phoenix.
