Casino Royal? I am confused...

Ok, I just saw Casion Royal, was pretty good. But here is what I don't understand. Supposedly, this movie is about how James Bond became a 007. So, how the fuck is this possible when the movie is set in 2006?

Is there something I am missing? If it was about how he became James Bond, wouldn't it be set like during the Cold War? Seems kind of dumb to me.

he-fox 03-29-2007 10:20 PM

it's a new 007 agent, replacing the old one.

But his name is James Bond...

KrisKross 03-29-2007 10:21 PM

It's not canon.

But somehow until now you believe Bond stayed the same age from the 1960s to today in the previous Bond movies?

Usually, in common intelligent thinking, when something is a story about how something or someone became what they are, that story precedes what they are now. Example, Star Wars, even though the movies were newer, their storyline was set before the time of the originals.

So if a story is supposedly about how James Bond became 007, one would think that the story would take place at an early time than the present.

So a movie based in the 1960's with 1960's technology would have been better?

You're right this same type of shit ruined "The Duke Of Hazzrd: The Beggining" for me too. That shit was suppose to take place in the mid 70's!!!!!!

Totally agree.

They probably wanted to make more money by making a super-modern action movie. Would've made a lot more sense to make a retro-prequel to the original movie.

But then again, if they an 60's prequel, the next movie should've been set in what, 40 years later? They'd have to get Sean Connery again.

polish_aristocrat 03-29-2007 10:58 PM

pretty good? it sucked so much :disgust

It got me totally bored

UniversalPass Pete 03-29-2007 11:16 PM

First blu-ray movie to sell 100,000 copies

BlueWire 03-29-2007 11:32 PM

Easily the best of the modern Bonds. Still trying to figure out where i'd put it on an all-time list.

This is a series where the guy has stayed the same age for 40 years. I see the argument but come on...

The original movies were out of order with the books so it was always flawed if you want to be truly accurate.

chodadog 03-29-2007 11:39 PM

The Bond movies are not chronological. Simple as that. Bond hasn't aged a day in 40 years. He's met god knows how many loves of his life. Don't try and over analyze it.

Yes it would have been much better. Exactly what "technology" was in this movie other than his car, the laptop computers, and the stupid chip in his arm?

Ivana Fukalot 03-30-2007 12:22 AM

I like this movie very much.

It's a good movie, but don't you think you should rent or Netflix the movie before you buy the DVD?

chemicaleyes 03-30-2007 12:55 AM

Watched it a couple of days ago, could of been better but good enough.

I guess Batman Begins sucked because it took place after the 1989 movie or the 1960s series.

You're sort of an idiot. But, it's ok, because anyone who takes a movie so personaly as you do obviously has deeper issues to worry about.

I only have one question...

WHY did they get rid of the naked dancing chicks in the opening sequence????

I mean, c'mon! that SPEAKS James Bond :error

V_RocKs 03-30-2007 03:28 PM

I would suck his cock...

If I was dead and he put it in my mouth....

However, technically I wouldn't be "sucking" his cock...

Just mouthing it.

That's funny I was thinking that too. I was certain there would be uber hot chicks since many tv shows and movies have been pushing the envelope lately, but nope, no chicks, I was dickbroken.
