My parents had a friend do that. Not quite as much boat, but it sank when they put it in. Turns out the people who winterized and stored it didn't put the plug back in. Everything panned out, but it ruined their 4th of July for sure.

Outch... and for thoses askign if he had insurance, I'm pretty sure the guys that loaned him the money (because you don't buy a 450k boat cash, that'd be kinda foolish with the current interest rates) required him to have insurance in order to qualify.
