What firewall do you use?

I've used ZA forever, but suddenly there are compatibility issues between ZA and Kaspersky! Well, there's no fucking way I'm giving up the best anti-virus ever made, so I'm stuck looking for a new firewall. I'm using sygate now, but I'm not too happy with it.

Any suggestions?

The firewall I use came with the anti. It is the best I have seen in some time on both parts. check out trendmicro.com

I have a Linksys hardware firewall router (not hooked up right now) and ZA Pro

Scott McD 03-28-2007 04:06 PM

I still use Sygate. No real probs with it really...

jonesonyou 03-28-2007 04:06 PM

nod32 no problems

onlineriches 03-28-2007 04:10 PM

why not use the built in firewall with Kaspersky Internet Security?

Theo 03-28-2007 04:14 PM

comodo, kick ass

Theo 03-28-2007 04:15 PM

i was thinking to route the connections through a vpn that has a hardware firewall that costs some crazy shit like 250-300k,but that's too extreme lol

VicD 03-28-2007 04:27 PM

free zonealarm and nod32, perfect combination

smutx 03-28-2007 04:55 PM

kaspersky

nosey 03-28-2007 05:21 PM

i use zonealarm pro, but you could try sygate or pc tools free firewall...

pc tools is coming out with some good shit, but still a bit buggy on anything other than xp

Spunky 03-28-2007 05:22 PM

I have Kaspersky and a hardware one

nestle 03-28-2007 05:45 PM

Ditto on Kaspersky and default port blocking that comes with router.

chaze 03-28-2007 05:47 PM

nortons is still the best software based one.

trendmicro is an antivirus - I love kaspersky, won't switch for anything.

That's another antivirus, I think.

I'd give it a shot but I only have the AntiVirus... you're happy with the Kas firewall? I might check it out later. I've just used ZA free for so long I'm used to free firewalls :P

I fucking hate norton. With a passion. Never gave their firewall a look, and I doubt I ever will - but thanks for the reply :)

camgirlshide 03-28-2007 06:38 PM

I like ipcop myself

dynastoned 03-28-2007 06:40 PM

I liked it... but it wouldn't work with Kaspersky. The stupid thing would not let it do it's job, I had to click "allow - allow - allow - ARRG!" over and over. Sent emails, searched, no way around it. They told me to check the box to create a rule, did it, no fucking luck.....

Sygate didn't work for me either. Fuck it, I'm turning off the computer and going to wax my truck.

Wolfy 04-27-2007 05:42 AM

PC Tools firewall seems to be doing a good job, for anyone else that might have the same question.

Exactly my combo as well, works smooth and never caused any errors. Although ZA doesn't have much to do any more...the hardware firewall catches most shit.

babydred 04-27-2007 06:54 AM

I use Sygate...but i'm sure you can find something here, http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/se...wfirewall.html
