Health Insurance For Webmasters - Take Part

I'm doing some research and wondering how many webmasters have Health and/or Dental insurance, and what type of converage.

This is more for independent webmasters, 1099 guys and gals.

Health insurance is one of those things, you don't think you need it till you actually do.

Thanks!

Im surprised FSC never created a group health plan.

I thought they had one in the works at one time. I know this subject has been brought up plenty of times. I'm finding out it takes *ALOT* of work to get this going.

Wizzo 03-28-2007 01:21 PM

I'm covered... :pimp

tony286 03-28-2007 01:23 PM

I would be open for a real vision and dental plan not the discount bullshit ones.

You're referring too Major Med with 3 to 5 million coverage right?

I definately would love feedback, putting something together.

:)

I'm very interested to hear what you come up with..Thanks!

badmunchkin 03-28-2007 01:40 PM

didn't someone post a thread just like this months ago? wtf happened to them anyways? The thread was like 10 pages long - he collected everyone's info for a group health plan and it never went anywhere... :(

Angelo22 03-28-2007 01:44 PM

My balls are covered by insurance

I have that part already, for me to cancel that it would have to be super solid.

Sosa 03-28-2007 01:50 PM

I have health insurance, but no dental/eye. Blue Cross / Blue Shield for like $80 month. I rarely ever have to goto the doctor though. So far I've had good luck.

I figured as much Tony. :)

I'm not collecting anyone's data, I'm looking to see where we are today with Webmasters, who need medical and dental coverage.

New project, that I think could benefit those of us who don't have the 3 - 5 million coverages.

There's another guy putting something together already... maybe a search (if its functioning) would help out here... I'll see what I can find.

Nothing seemed to happen on that thread.

I'm not in the planning stage, nor the quote stage, I have a finished product, but need to gauge if we have something that webmasters are interested in.

hent 03-28-2007 02:04 PM

well, if you have something more serious than the other thread, let me know.

stickyfingerz 03-28-2007 02:09 PM

Mine is through my wifes work and fully covered, but we are talking about her taking some time off maybe a year, so I may be very interested soon. I can piggyback on my dads business plan, but its kind of a hassle and they would have to show paying me to do it I believe, which is fine as I handle their web presence, but still a hassle. So ya Im interested. Our dental is eh. so Id love to get one that covers everything but maybe a small copay. Right now I think its a percentage or something.

I will Andrew. :)

We have medical, major med, dental, prescription, vision and catastrophic and disability. i think it's a must especially when one works independently and there is no back up.

it's through cigna; and, so far, they've proven to be very beneficial, other than the fact that they won't cover the quit smoking meds.

Jace 03-28-2007 03:18 PM

I have Aetna, my wife has United Health Care

I pay $143 a month, my wife pays $180 a month

I am about to switch to United Health Care though, the plan my wife is on is MUCH better

We also have Aetna and Ameriplan Dental discount programs, each costing approx $18 a month, and we get an average of 30-50% off our dental work

TRUE Dental insurance is something I would be interested in BIG TIME, the discount is cool and all, but 30% off of $1200 ain't that big of a deal

Thank you everyone that has taken part in this thread.

Barefootsies 03-29-2007 07:26 AM

BCBS of MI.
I think it's 363.00 every two months (that is how they bill).
No dental/optical.

I'm interested. :)

I have health insurance. I've had dental insurance in the past but the dentists on the plans were "shady" to say the least. I'd rather pay my way and not be told I need expensive things I really don't need :)

Forest 03-29-2007 11:23 AM

i pay a small fortune for mine so I would be interestd in a group plan

The Sultan Of Smut 03-29-2007 12:05 PM

Crap I voted wrong.

MissMina 03-29-2007 12:17 PM

I'm in... Whatever happened to that other guy that took our info? Haven't heard anything in months...

PersianKitty 04-01-2007 09:58 AM

Have both medical and dental PPO through Costco Small Business plan. It's Healthnet for medical and Aetna for dental.

sperbonzo 04-01-2007 11:17 AM

Hey Anthony, Vino and I have health insurance, but we would definitely be interested in hearing about a group plan... Please keep us in the loop on this!
