PHX Forum seminar: "Making a Name for Yourself" Viral Marketing & other trade secrets

The PHX Forum has become one of those shows that are "can't miss" for me now. There's so much going on and so many key people showing up that it would be impossible NOT TO DO A TON OF BIZ!

I was checking through the schedule and all the events and although it's pretty damn early for me - this is one I think I'll actually wake up for and that everyone should attend if they can make it!

10:30am, Saturday

Blogs, webmaster boards, innovative tools and tradeshows are a way to get your message out to webmasters. Blogs, RSS, and Viral videos serve as a way to get your message out to consumers. We have assembled a group well versed in both realms. How can your company attract new webmasters using innovative, new wave consumer marketing? How can you create buzz about your products and streamline your message to webmasters?

Moderator: MJ McMahon
Panelists: Eric Matis, Adult.com
Corey Wayne, WEGCash
Derek Meklir, AdultWhosWho.com
Harlan Yaffe, Pridebucks
Holly Ruprecht, Naked Sword
Steve Jones, Lightspeed

Derek from AWW (best networking site around for webmasters), Eric telling you what marketing events at shows work best. I see mistakes made on boards and at shows all the time! This is a great subject! Some people REALLY don't know how to convey product messages to webmasters in person OR on boards! When should you approach someone and pitch your product?

Steve Lightspeed is one of the kings of Marketing and Branding to BOTH CONSUMERS AND WEBMASTERS!

Also, I see a ton of questions on here about blogs, RSS, viral marketing to consumers ... Weg Cory is on this forum kicking knowledge all the time - and judging from the response to one of his recent threads, I think this is a great seminar to attend just to brain drain HIM!

If you haven't seen it already check out http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=716195

THAT is pitching a product and pushing to consumers!

Pridebucks and NakedSword are marketing geniuses and incredible at what they do too!

People should really wake up on Saturday and go pick some of these guys brains - it's a great opportunity and it's definitely a well rounded group!

Great job once again to The Phoenix Forum!

And thanks to CCBILL and all the sponsors for making this such an excellent event!

:thumbsup:thumbsup

It would be very interesting for me, but unfortunately I'm not coming to Phoenix :( I wonder if there willl be a possibility to see a video recording of this seminar online.

Magalie 03-27-2007 12:21 PM

ChelseyBottoms 03-27-2007 12:35 PM

I'll be there for sure. Sounds like a great learning opportunity

MJ_AVN 03-27-2007 12:36 PM

This is going to be a great seminar! Quite honestly, I think we could go well past the alloted time limit with these panelists. It's rare to have this much marketing knowledge in one place at one time, talking about everything from trade shows to viral marketing, and the power of RSS to personal branding.

MaDalton 03-27-2007 12:47 PM

btw - i miss Juicy on that panel as specialist for posting Emu pics :upsidedow

seeric 03-27-2007 12:56 PM

it better be good and not just a bunch of ball rubbing. looks like i can count on a few people on there to make it worth my while.

As some of you know, I dropped this panel originally because I felt as though I would not be able to contribute. However, CCBill and Monty worked together to really gear this seminar towards all aspects of Marketing, which includes educating webmasters on how new tools are useful to their specific sites (blogs, rss, syndication, flash embeds), how to sell what you offer, when to sell it, and I am sure a lot more.

I am not concerned with board popularity, I don't offer a lot in how to make oneself popular (the original reason behind my dropping out of the first seminar). My job revolves around developing products and tools based on trends and then pitching those products to the webmaster community via various means, which includes: Education through tutorials, private meetings, icq, boards such as GFY and JBM. I am not only excited to discuss these things, but also happy to be back on this panel. My job is strongly consumer based, something I hope we touch on as well.

This is a great, well rounded group of people and companies. This seminar is very broad (something I enjoy) and should really appeal to a lot of different areas.

Thanks to Monty and The Phoenix Forum for having me. I am excited for the opportunity and look forward to seeing all of you.

Dwreck 03-27-2007 03:01 PM

This is going to be a great seminar, I can't wait!!

tony286 03-27-2007 04:57 PM

Why dont shows make the seminars later in the day? For the most part industry is a bunch of night owls.

AGP Albert 03-27-2007 05:53 PM

This will be a very informative seminar. To see Eric and Cory on a 1030am panel will be equally entertaining :)

Damn, I've been working on my notes for this seminar, I guess I'll have to take "ball rubbing" off the list of how to market your product. Fuck, I got nothin now...
