I'm over 18 (23 in fact) and I'd rather not tell my parents that I do porn on the internet either. They wouldn't approve and I respect and love them too much to just blow them off.

Fortunately I have a legit day job and my hubby does a bit of programming so they don't have to know about the porn side of things. It also helps that we live in Europe and they in the US.

Sexygoat, I can understand your predicament but it is difficult to solve. You'd have to come up with something freelance (website design or something) to bring in some cash and you can always tell them it earns more than it does. This all depends of course that you are over 18 and have access to your own bank accounts, etc without their direct interference.

I am 24 years old. I am not ashamed of what I do, but there are still people I'd rather not bother with it. After all, not everyone thinks it is cool. My best friends all know, and are cool about my job. Would I tell my grandmother? Um... No! ;)

You should care about what your parents think for their entire lives (assuming you had normal parents), but your statement is typical for a kid.

I have a domain set up that looks like I do mainstream web design work. when I get an enquiry I just send back a polite email saying I'm not taking new clients at the moment :)

See opertunites and start grabbing them, fucking all of them. Keep your balls in as many areas as possible, if porn doesnt pay off then try something else...but nothing is going to pay as well as this for doing so little...unless you are walking down the streets singing "Charlie, Smack, Crack......"

heh reminds me of my story, i just threw up a webdesign site for fun like 2 years ago...i prolly got one enquiry each week about work...even though i didnt market it...

I have a similar prob with some of my friends. I meet new people, and when I'm asked what I do, I normally say "I'm Marketing Web sites" and leave it at that. Then I have to cross my fingers to see if my friends will shut up. If I'm chatting up a chick in a bar, then the porn thing comes out as fast as they can get it, just to see how I can spin it positively. I'm not ashamed of working in the adult industry at all, but there are closed minded people out there.
