Family Emergency & THANK YOU to Autoblogger Pro Users

I haven't been sharing this very widely, but my step father just had a heart attack. It was completely unexpected, especially considering his near-optimal physical shape (at 64, he runs every day and has competed in countless marathons throughout his life) and amazing health-conscious eating habits.

As some of you know, I recently moved from Connecticut to North Carolina to live on Lake Gaston and relax a bit more than Connecticut might otherwise allow.

Needless to say, when I heard of his heart attack, I returned to Connecticut. We are, of course, in the middle of the Bliggo beta-testing and an Autoblogger Pro cycle, but I don't think anyone would find it strange that my family took priority.

In the past, we've received countless threads, e-mails, and ICQ's complimenting our support, and I've been proud of that track record. However, while I've been traveling, tickets have sat for up to half a day in some cases before being read and addressed. I was worried that I'd see some consternation from our users, but EVERYONE has been extremely supportive and understanding. Our ticket back-log is now clear, incidentally.

I want to say a special "thank you" to everyone who purchased Autoblogger Pro in the past week. Coming home after a mentally and physically exhausting trip to THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars in new orders is really nice. Thanks a bunch guys, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone builds with their new copies of the software.

Our users rock, and I wanted to thank you all.

Incidentally, this trip highlighted something else that is worth a mention: I do enjoy talking to many of you on ICQ, but lately when I log on, I'm inundated with messages and people trying to get in touch with me about deals, sites, ABP, etc., and it's almost impossible to respond in a timely fashion. If you have an Autoblogger Pro SUPPORT issue, please use the ticket system, and not ICQ, as I don't often check my personal ICQ and it's very difficult to get in touch with me that way. Thanks much.

Thanks, on both counts.

It's scary, it's like everyone on GFY bought it last week, looking through the user names. We've always had strong sales, but sheesh .. I almost fell out of my chair when I looked at the figures .. day after day.

I was going to order last night, but couldnt figure out if it could do something.

I want to be able to post custom posts, but I need to be able to pick what blogs get the posts, as some go to all, some only to certain ones, etc.

I think it does, but couldnt tell.

Hope to be ordering soon though :)

Yes. You basically set up which blogs get what, but there's probably a MUCH easier way to do that with PHP, and you save the $299 for Autoblogger Pro. I can't IMAGINE buying it for that purpose. Now, if you wanted to use the OTHER features of it, then of course, by all means. But just for syndicating to specific blogs? Sheesh, I'd just hack out some PHP. :)

Best of luck. My Dad had a massive heart attack in January at age 81. He is 6'3" and maybe 190 now that he let himself go ;)
(unheard of in my family since no-one died of heart trouble and average age of death is 90, my great aunt just passed away at 99 years, 7 months, she never married ;) My Granddad made 98 and grandmas into 90's )
Good news is that my Dad is back working volunteering for Habitat For Humanity. Yep, he is a liberal.

edgeprod I appreciate your support even in the midst of your personal crisis.

can I make a suggestion though? maybe link the support ticket thingie in your sig - a lot of people I imagine do a search for your UN to find your ICQ and might see that and use it instead.

I hope everything resolves itself well btw with your fam.

Wow!

Well, I forgot to mention -- my step-father DID recover quickly. He had double bypass surgery, and was walking around a few days later. The doctor has just cleared him to resume exercise, but not lifting (the entry point of the surgery is not yet healed). He's got an insane scar now -- the chicks are going to dig it for sure.
