Need help deciding... M3 or C32 AMG ???
 

I narrowed it down to these two... now comes the hard part, what do I go with ??

BMW M3

or

Mercedes C32 AMG

Give me your reasons please...

I want the SLK230 ~ so I'm biased towards the Mercedes.

I drive a 330I,,,,but really don't see how you could go wrong with either the C or the M....flip a coin:2 cents:

There is no substitute if you want a real drivers car.

The Benzito is hella nice, a GT car, drive both. But I'd choose an M3...had a 98 for a few years.

you need an M3...buy the top of the line sports beemer over the middle class benz. Better value, and better handling.

I'm gonna grab a SLK 32 AMG

i've driven both, and i like the m3 much better. it has much more of a sports car feel. both are very quick. the mb is more comfortable, and likely has better build quality.

but i prefer the rawness of the M3

Well, here are the prices for both in Canada, C32=$71k CAD (fully loaded) , M3=$102k CAD (fully loaded)

thats a $30k difference, and yet both cars are very similar... so thats kinda leans me towards the benz...

What are the prices in the US ??

uh, the base price of the M3 coupe in CAD is 73500. and there are very few options available.

the cabriolet is 83500 base CAD.

the M5 is 105500 - maybe that's what you were talking about.

No man, I was at the dealership today, 2003 M3=$102k with SMG transmission, in the benz its called "SpeedShift" which is standard in the benz.

i'm not sure of the smg option price - as i would never get it.

those are the base prices and the cabriolet in phoenix yellow i am thinking of getting is 87K before gst. drop top included.

that's also something i forgot to mention. automatic transmission on the benz - another reason not to get it if you lean more towards sports cars. the manual in the M3 is killer.

Why wouldnt you get the smg option ??

btw, in the benz its not automatic, its smg as well, in the AMG's anyway...

i know what it is. call it whatever you like, it's still an auto. i've driven it. why wouldn't i get the smg? because i prefer manuals, why else?

Pushing a button to shift if you choose to still means automatic to me.

Ya, but smg is the same thing as manual just without the clutch, which makes it funner.... while still getting the manual transmission feeling...

The smg is, in fact, a true sequential clutchless manual, while the Benzito has a push button automatic.

the m3 is the better overall car. i like the looks and wheels a lot better too. the only prob is there are 5 times as many bmws as mercedes on the road...at least around me. i have about 10 bmws within a square block of my house and only one benz
both cars are just as fast though. my friends c32 ran a 13.3 at the track...

I've always liked BMWs more than Benzes, but the new ones are looking really nice. You guys should post some pics. I am not even sure what that Benz is...

oh, and btw, there are more benzes around where I live than BMWs. There seems to be about 2 to 3 times as many. It's really your own personal taste. Test drive them both, and go with what you like.

c32 - more of a mans car


unless you are under 18, you should get the benz

if i were gonna get a bmw, i would only consider the 7-series.. maybe a 750IL would do :thumbsup really nice car with a V12 engine
