Women are more addicted to porn than men..
Stats are so fucked up , or my math is late at night after too many joints..
I was reading an article on porn statistics in a gfy thread by dugmor It stated that 10% of adults admitted to being addicted to porn later on in the article it states that 17% of women are addicted to porn.. correct me if im wrong but doesnt that mean women are 5 times more likely to be addicted to porn ? if you have 100 people in a room and 10% ( = 10 ) of them are porn addicts.. If 50 of them are women and 17% of women are porn addicts that means 8.5 of them are women , so that must mean only 1.5 addicts are men. ok that cant be right.. Now i also otice the two stats are worded differently , the first stat is 10% of "ADULTS - ADMITTED" to being addicted to porn but in the second stat it doesnt say 17% of ADULT women ADMITTED to being addicted to porn.. so what does that mean ? theres lots of underage boys/girls addicted to porn ? |
If it's 10% of adults, which includes 17% of women, then it would be only 3% of all men admitting to porn addiction. So then, women are 567% more addicted to porn than men.
By the way, "woman" implies adult, so it need not be specifically stated. |
It means that you read it out of context...
10% ADMITTED to being addicted. |
I have to admit.. I am one of the addict
|
What counts as being 'addicted' ??

I guess you're addicted if you can't function correctly without porn. By that definition, I'm not an addict.

That could be true. Mens' prostitution is not developed and only Internet is left for poor women to enjoy.
|
yeah, but that means we still have 90% to work with!
|
True, women find it stimulating to watch porn, than having lousy men partners.............
|
On the contrary, 1,5 are women who are porn addicted and 8-9 ppl are men

I'm not addicted to porn but I'd much rather watch porn than have sex with anyone. I just don't like people. I am very anti-social and anti-people.
I think being alone with yourself is best. I plan to not have sex anymore for the rest of my life. It really isn't worth it. I trust no one. People WILL fuck you over. At least you can turn a porn off when you want it too. People can fuck with your lives and leave you emotionally damaged forever. I am totally serious. Porn is much better than sex. And for some reason I can't have casual sex ever. I am just weird like that. I don't see a point to it. And being a relationship you get fucked over. So porn is better. |

But I do I know a lot of females who feel this way. Since this topic about women being addicted to porn. I don't know anyone who is totally addicted but I do know people who would rather have sex with theselves than others. People in general are just vile and untrustable. |

The womans number didnt state if the women admitted to it just the other stat. But how would they know if someone was addicted to porn if they didnt admit to it. |

I think when women say theyre addicted to porn, i find it hard to believe. Why? Cos im a guy and somehow i cant imagine women jerking off to it. Can someone throw some light on this - do women like porn or not? This is one of lifes mysteries for me. |
I think they mean that of the 10% of addicts 17% are woman. That is 0.1 * 0.17 which is just 0.017. So in the end only 1.7% of all women are addicted to porno!

I consider an addiction something negative to the point were a person can't resist and will do everything to get the thing they are addicted to. If you are adicted to heroin you'll probably get close to killing someone just to get it. Plus, it's devastating for a person's body and psyche. Does porn really have a negative impact on people? I doubt it. If I watch porn and masturbate I feel good after. I don't have a hangover the next day and I don't get aggressive. Actually, I get lots of mail from guys who thank me, telling me my porn helped them. I can live without porn, I just like watching it. OK, I confess, it's mostly my own porn that turns me on, it's probably more a vanity thing, seeing myself and imagining the impact it has on men. But then, there is quite a bit of other porn I like too. In these days everything has to have a shrink factor, the simple fact that someone watches porn flics and likes it is simply not enough, unless a neurotic element is added. |
I dont know about women being addicted to porn, sounds pretty unlikely to me that they are more then men.
For example; the first suspicous sign to look at for stolen cc's that are used on our network is when they are under a female name. And I can tell you that 4 times out of 5 its either stolen cc's or husbands using their wive's cc's. And then again there is really not much of them... So I dont know for porn in general but it certainly isnt true for the webcam biz. |

but it sure would sound alot more reasonable that 83% of addicts are men 17% are women. |

so 83% guys addicted of 10% makes sense. |

I guess I can appreciate it enough to jerk off to it when it really meets my turn ons, but its rare. Then again, jerking off to porn is just convenient. Having sex for real is a total other thing. But yeah, sometimes you just wish to get off and go to bed without any hassle. So yeah, personally I guess it can be used to a certain degree but its definitely not an addiction. Besides, porn producers are not exactly thinking of women watching when they do their content :1orglaugh (btw-I heard many of my female friends saying that they would get off on erotic literature more then on images. I guess its because men are more visual and women more imaginative? Go figure) |
