im hiring 10 people for $20/day
full time job,you have to work hard and have several skills:
designing, programing, security administrating, networking and have at least 1000 posts across the adult boards. Past failed attempt in the mainstream industry will be considered as a plus. if you think you qualify, drop me a message. Spacedog cases are excluded. thanks |
i can pay you in short uins also
|
This is probably a parody of an earlier thread..... But here's the economics analysis anyway:
Like I said at an earlier thread.......the only logical respondents to this would be 1) foreign webmasters in countries where the exchange rate is high enough and the daily minimum wage low enough to make this worthwhile and 2) US/Canada/Europe webmasters that run fully automated systems and operate on an economy of scale |
I see this a joke but your punchline (if any) is very weak.
|
Wow 20 dollars thats big bucks I really wanted the job but i only have like 200 post. Damn my luck suxs.
|
i want a years salary upfront...
|
Frank W, someone with basic webmastering skills independent country can make way more money in 8 hours of continuous work. Now if there are people that are willing to work for someone else for this amount of money what can I say....
There are two answers: yes i'm getting the job because I can't make any money alone no, thanks but If I'll work my ass for 8 hours I'll make more money even with my limited webmastering skills. |
I would say $20 / day guaranteed is a good deal for a foreign webmaster to lock in $ for stuff he's already doing. The key here is efficiency and the ability to use that extra $20 which is about 4x the daily minimum wage in some parts of SE Asia/Eastern Europe as additional capital in building income generation systems.
I'm just saying its not as ludicrous as it sounds...in a foreign setting. But its a tough sell to US/Canada/European webmasters. Quote:

Whaddya know, I just happen to need 20$/day more.
I have enough posts! No failed attempts though. Way over 1k posts. and I can throw in my ICQ # 218026 :thefinger |
Living in a country not among US/Canada/Europe doesn't mean a lot of things. I know webmasters from such countries that work hard and make good money. Some of them way more than the average webmaster.
No, i dont think it's good deal. Don't forget that the net cost in these countries is very high and probably will take most of their wages. Believe it or not, although I live in Europe I have $250/month net connection costs for my dialup. This applies for several countries. TGF,I already said spacedog cases are excluded. |
If this job doesn't go through I'll contact you.

There's been publicized cases of Russians and East Europeans making BANK off online adult promo. They have crappy exchange rates and I'm sure they turned that to their advantage by hiring crackerjack local programmers and webmasters to build their promo empires. It can be, it has been, and is still being done. My only point is that webmasters should not turn down income opportunities unless they've thought through the cost/benefit process.
You keep saying work hard for yourself and make good money. However, this does not exclude the possibility of make extra money for doing what you already do more efficiently. If anything, the extra cash allows a webmaster to hire helpers thereby creating an economy of scale. The cost here of course is the time and labor. The benefit is some guaranteed money that can be used to invest in expanding existing operations. Indeed, the cost of Net connection you mentioned earlier is a perfect example of a cost that will be paid for by guaranteed contract work. Take the guaranteed work while building your porn business. Once its up to speed...drop the contract work. That's all I'm arguing. I'm not arguing that foreign webmasters should be happy to take this money......and live on it solely. No, they just need to view this as a good source of capital which they can use to expand their business. Quote:

I hope anyone in India or Russia or where ever, doesn't fall for this labor exploit. An American would want $40/hour if they had all these skills & he wants you to work for $20/day.
Work for yourself. As bad a nike with their sweat shops. Pay some kid 2 cents to make a shoe and sell it $130:feels-hot :321GFY |
i got your point, but most probably you are reffering to very few cases since i don't think that many can be online so many hours/day to cover their own work and the contract.
Personally I would feel bad to hire someone for that low wage knowing this way I would probably limited him. Adult webmasters chase the sky. In order to reach the sky you need a spaceship and such a low contract postpones the trip. I prefer to have partners than low paid employees. This way they take the same ticket with me. ;-) |
Vietnamese subcontractors for Nike pay their workers $2 a day
Sounds like exploitation, right? Not if you compare that money, converted into local Vietnamese dong, to local pay rates and costs of living. You even get a better deal if you compare that money to the purchasing power index for Vietnam. To take my ex-girlfriend's example: She's a Filipina webmaster I met while she was living in Los Angeles. She is based in a province in the Philippines now. Her TGP, Toplist, AVS pages, and gallery submissions net her $2000 a month. The exchange rate is $1 : PhP 51 She makes PhP 102,000 a month. Compare that with average Philippine wage of PhP 10,000 a month. Her cable modem bills: PhP 2000 Her rent: 6000 Her assistant: 10000 Payments to "models": 20,000 Total Profit: 64,000 pesos. Not too shabby. With all her custom content, she's looking to building a paysite within 3 months. She recently emailed me that she's using the money she saved to become a fastfood franchisee in her town. Plus, I know she uses some of her money to send her younger siblings through school. Low rates does not necessarily mean exploitation. Quote:

I'm fucking around - I heard in places like india you can live very well for $500 US, so if someone makes $20 a day they are doing much better then people around them.

"To take my ex-girlfriend's example: She's a Filipina webmaster I met while she was living in Los Angeles. She is based in a province in the Philippines now. Her TGP, Toplist, AVS pages, and gallery submissions net her $2000 a month"
so would you like your girlfriend as an employee for $600/month? |

yeap Rose,it's insane.....
George,you are hired! |
yo frank, you are one smart mother fucker! well said.
|
Which thread is this reffering to?
|
The thing is if you are a foreign webmaster like myself and your country's exchange rate is $1=R10 (meaning you can buy 10 times more and charge 10 times less for services) then it's easy understand why US webmasters are pissed.
It must suck big-time for you but if the if the world is wasn't so capatalistic, specialy US companies pushing the $ to be so strong, we would not even be in this situation. :) _ |

Cuz I cant stop myself from laughing out LOuD from the way it reads to me 20 a day You can make more then that from one gallery!! |
Frank W, the exchange rate doesn't have to do anything with that.
A few years ago you got a few million Rubel for $1 but that meant nothing because you could buy a few litres of milk with that money. And since inflation was so high, a few days later you could only buy half of that with the same amount of money exchanged a few days earlier. But if you changed again $1 to Rubel at that day you got twice the amount as before. While you might have needed a large bag to carry that much money you still couldn't buy more than before :) Of course you were a rich man with an income of $1000 per month but not because of the exchange rates (if you actually changed the money to Rubel you would have become poorer and poorer every day :) ) but because the rest earned a few dollars per month. |
Quote:
Well 200 posts should qualify for $5/day. You'll be a rich man in no time. |
well - smart designer, webmaster and programer + good networking + hard work = can make 200$ per day ( doesn't mater if you are from russia or us or china )
if you are not that kind of man - yea 20$ is good price for some poor countries |
Hi Coke,
Actually, my earlier post pointed to local costs of living as one benchmark to determine whether foreign payment rates for local labor is "exploitative." Since you focused on inflation as one aspect impacting spending power, pls keep in mind that inflation is very much factored into the exchange rate of a currency. High inflation triggers worries of capital flight which triggers de facto if not official devaluation. If not counteracted by an IMF bailout or some sort of fiscal austerity plan, this leads to a vicious cycle. Thailand is another example. In 1997, the baht dropped against the US $, prices soared, exchange rate kept dropping until a fiscal plan was put into place. Just look at what happened to Brazil in the 80s and Russia in the 90's. Also, its not as hopeless as it seemed, in your hyperinflation scenario [experienced periodically the world over from Brazil to Argentina to Russia], the rich people would not stand idly by and see their existing cash turn to dust....most hedge against these through short term deposits with Central banks. These deposit accounts post [during hyperinflation times] super high interest rates [in an attempt to keep local money from being converted to dollars and leaving the country]. The rich would then get returns 1-3 % above inflation so they preserve their wealth. Quote:

anytime massive devaluation of currency is discussed, i can't help but think of Germany after WW1 - there are pictures of people using wheel barrows to carry around enough money to purchase bread.
