What the hell is wrong with the internet?

It seems like everytime I turn around sites are going down. Sites that are hardley ever down. This is just in the last few weeks too. What am I missing? Is there some internet conspiracy that I am not seeing here or what?

It's more than likely a problem on your end, with your ISP or with your computer.

I had the same problem with one particular site recently. There was a period of about two days when I couldn't reach it, then it was back again, then 404 for a short while. The site was fine for others, though.

The period where you couldn't access it, and were getting a 404, but other people could access it, was probably your ISP not updating the their cache, and constantly serving you a page that was days old.
