    I need a PC tape measure/ruler?

    I need a PC tape measure/ruler.

    Don't know if there is such a thing out there, but if so, please point me in the right direction.

    If this does not exist, then please make me one, then after you give me a copy, please market it & make yourself famous off of it, but do please give me some credit

    Basically, here's what I need it to do.

    I'd like to set my mouse at a certain point on my screen & right click, then scroll down or sideways to another point. (similar to highlighting text.)
    Afterwards, I'd like for this tool to give me the measurement of the scrolled area in pixels.

    Example.. I right click at beginning of line of text & scroll down 50 lines of text & highlight the area & tool will tell me how many pixels the measurement is from top to bottom.

    Or same as doing it sideways as well.

      that would be a good idea, I always end up pulling the image (print screen) into PS and using the select tool, lol.

          same here, but would be nice to eliminate the steps of making screencap, pasting & selecting, etc.

              seems like it would be fairly easy to build in VB or something - i'm sure something similar is out there for free.

                  On another note.. this won't always work because sometimes going from top to bottom is much longer than a full screen resolution
