Just entered a Men's Health Contest - check the Vid!
Hey Guys,
Men's Health is having a fitness video contest. Basically it's send in a video of you doing your most challenging excercise. My buddies always tell me I have some crazy routines in the gym so I decided to submit one. I usually do squats on that with a 45 in each hand to help balance me out. You have great form! I'd break my neck doing that! |
That's an impressive amount of weight to squat, but that looks both dangerous and pointless from a muscle building perspective to do it on that unsteady object. Eventually one will get hurt doing squats on an unsteady object. If you want to work your core, there are plenty of exercises to do that and do it better. I heard of one guy who shattered both of his wrists doing DB presses laying on one of those big balls when it suddenly broke and his back hit the floor.
Now for a safe and practical muscle and strength building challenge I like to strap a ten to twenty pound weight around my waist and do weighted chinups and pullups. Nothing will make your upper body stronger! |

Anyone that has used a Bosu ball knows how difficult those squats are. I had to do bosu ball work for rehab on my knee. It taxes your legs a lot quicker than normal squats, but without having to do as heavy a weight. Gunner, you do them one leg at a time don't you? ;) |
