have you drove coast to coast US?

Have any of you drove coast to coast in the US? I only made it as far as the rockies. I am wondering how is the drive after that? It was the best thing I have ever done. I took route 80 most of the time.

spunkmaster 03-17-2007 06:31 PM

Yes 6 times !

DateDoc 03-17-2007 06:33 PM

West Palm Beach, FL to Carmel, CA. By the time I was though Texas I was just wishing the trip would be over. New Mexico was boring, so was Arizona then came the Mojave going into California......

Aquarius 03-17-2007 06:33 PM

I live in Mexico, I and some buddies are planning driving all the way up to Canada in the summer, should be fun.

schneemann 03-17-2007 06:38 PM

Ocean City MD, to Seattle WA: 3 days. I am a machine.

I've also done Washington DC to Albuquerque NM and El Paso TX to Baltimore, MD.

Good rides, all of them. I really liked the trip to Seattle. So much beautiful country along the way. Once you get west of St Louis, it really turns beautiful.

cspdinc 03-17-2007 06:42 PM

I've driven Seattle to NYC a few times. Did it once in 55 hours one way. driven Miami to Seattle many times. burned up a set of ties once, (summer driving) put on 7000 miles in a week+2 days.

Travel with a pornstar chic once... its, me drive, and her talk talk talk on her cell! Kill me!

LOL............ :)
still it has its rewards. Not to mention photo ops.

Drove from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville up to MD (oh hey MD peeps in this thread). All I heard from people was that going the south route...'you will be in Texas forever'. So, instead of dreading it we decided to map out Texas and we hit every major city. Great road trip!

Once you get west of the Mississippi, it seems like everything is "forever". I've driven across Texas and across Montana. Both are fucking huge. It sure isn't like the east coast. I can drive north on I-95 for 12 hours and go through 8 states. It took me almost twice that for Montana!

RawAlex 03-19-2007 09:31 AM

I have gone across the top, gone across the bottom, and done a 45 from north to south, plus done north to south any number of times.

If you are going to go all the way across and back, do yourself the favor and find two different routes, and really enjoy seeing all of the country. You will enjoy it.

_Richard_ 03-19-2007 09:37 AM

drove from washington to new hampshire.. want to do it a again with a buddy and a dirtbike :)

Peaches 03-19-2007 10:11 AM

I've only made it as far as from ATL to the Rockies and that was in HS, on a chartered bus on the way to camp.

I've driven straight through MANY times from ATL to the Outer Banks in NC - about 10-12 hours depending on if I hit traffic in Charlotte or Raleigh. I take the dogs with me as well as an SUV loaded with crap so it's impossible to fly.

Z 03-19-2007 10:31 AM

I've done the whole east coast several times and have driven most of California...but coast to coast? Not yet...

Drove from Baltimore to Las Vegas in 3 days... stopped in Indianapolis and St. Louis.

Phentermine is the bomb! I recommend for any long road trip. :1orglaugh

Most amazing view: New Mexico... just beautiful.

LiveDose 03-21-2007 11:44 PM

the Shemp 03-21-2007 11:45 PM

D 03-21-2007 11:57 PM

Drove the entire length of I-10 (or "The 10", and Angelinos call it), from Jacksonville to L.A., 10 years ago.

I took 3 months to make the trip... arguably the best 3 months of my life.

96ukssob 03-21-2007 11:58 PM

i drove from central Pennslyvania to Los Angeles 2 1/2 year ago. I took 70 thru. After st. louis it sucked until i hit the rockys. after that there was a little bit of cool stuff, but then crap until vegas.

best part by far was going thru the rockys and aspen, id love to do it again

baddog 03-22-2007 12:02 AM

I did Las Vegas to Nashville TN, in a super stretch (limo) to pick up a client, after 9/11, and bring him back to Vegas. That was an eerie drive.

Military at the Dam with bomb dogs, and snipers on the ridge. American flags waving on every vehicle. All the office buildings in OK city left their lights on in the shape of a cross at night. Every flag at half mass.

That was the only time in my life that people ere generally nice to each other, and to us every place we stopped.

Oh well, back to the normal road rage and bird flipping.

lalika 03-22-2007 01:17 AM

and who drove from Budapest to London? :)

aico 03-22-2007 01:19 AM

Yes, but I live on a peninsula.

Sarah_Jayne 03-22-2007 03:02 AM

Gentle_Ben 03-22-2007 03:18 AM
