Does anyone really pay attention to these dumb contest threads?
 

Over and over we see a stupid contest thread made. I almost always pass them right by and never view them.

I avoid threads started by Headless most times :)

sometimes, but for those ones that involve sending 100 sales a month I dont bother because i dont have super huge sites

I enjoy the random entry ones, not the bullshit post at X post or post x amount of times.. I just won a xbox360 at random :)

The ones making them do. And the people on their payroll (see AFF's thread for the most recent example).

They totally are a waste of GFY space. Only the sig whores post in them as well as the employees of the companies.

you know what would be cool, sponsors that got a little more creative with the contests.....how a scavenger hunt? new clue or hint posted each day, answers to be posted in the thread? lasting 2 weeks, etc....every right answer wins

there are ppl on GFY with like 5k-10K+ posts.. that no one knows exist because of these contests...

I am tired of making galleries a few years now. You can not only think about work. Contests are good for relax between submitting galleries and reading other threads.
And I have to say - Pussycash is the best in advertising :)
But ofcourse between submitting of galleries, contests I read some interesting threads too :)

Well lets put it to you this way.. I rarely pay attention to sponsors that post contest threads.

IMO these sponsors that are always having these post number blahh blahh blahh to win contests are just as bad as the surfers.. That and they are directly responsible for all the BS users we have on this board.

You look at any of those contest threads and it's full of BS post bots and they are supporting that shit by having contests that are posting contests.

You want to have a contest, then reward your fucking webmasters not fucking post bots or sig whores. If you want to have a contest I'll pay attention to, then do it as a sale performance contest.. Not some stupid ass post bot contest.

I think I clicked on one once, after that, I don't bother. Seems a bit stupid, it's just people bumping for a #, what's the point?
