How to make moviefiles smaller ?
 

Is there program can make a 13 mb mpg file ( 1 minute of movie) compress to about half size ??

Ok, i thought that but with what program should i use.
I tryed it with virtual dub, but that won't work for me.

Why use mpg? Go Real 9 or Windows Media 8. Looks better and you can get that file down even lower than you can imagine.

Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.5 is the best I've found... :thumbsup

i downloaded ulead media player yesterday, so i still got many days left for the trial version. I will try it out.
The movie files came in mpg from the contentprovider, i stuffed my poor server with all those mpg files :)
I never made movie sites before , only sites with pictures. everything is ready expect for this.

Which extention for the movie files should i proberly use if my site is acceptable for listing at one of the major avs systems ? As a premium or gold site. Windows streaming media seems to low quality to me.

Ok, I'll go the extra mile here...

Windows Media 8 makes your files look fantastic. It's not like previous versions. You have to use the Windows Media Encoding UTILITY to encode the files.

Real 9 is a little bit better looking. Real is an overall pain in the ass for the surfer when they have to upgrade because, as you probably know, Real tries to sneak all kinds of extra options and bullcrap in with the necassary upgrade. But it does look a little better. You can use Cleaner to encode both Real 9 & Windows media 8 as well as every other format (avi, mpeg 1,2,3 & 4, quicktime). I use the Windows Media Encoding Utility only because it gives me more options.

You can use all of these formats for your AVS sites. Get familiar with Cleaner so you can take advantage of the extra benifits like meta tags which allow you to trigger other pages or frames to open up in your sites.

Try One Verify for your movie sites. They send a lot of traffic to your sites and have the highest payouts in the biz right now.

Convert it to DivX
I converted a 60MB mpeg to Divx ... it weighed ONLY 880K

I bet you can get it in UNDER 200K without any loss of quality

i was also thinking about converting it to divx, but i thought many people wound't be albe to see it and it wouldn't get listed on a avs site.
