Creative click counting - Drama
It makes me sick !
Why are so many programs counting second page uniques and shit like this ? I'd rather see a real 1:2000 raw instead of a bogus 1:200 with totally useless and incomplete referrer stats. There are several huge programs using this second page unique count, I won't call names, but if you count your own outgoing hits, it isn't rocket science to figure out who messes with your clicks. Why are 70% of my visitors unique according to server stats but no sponsor comes even close to this % when looking at my stats ? Why do some sponsors count webmaster signups and surfer signups to calculate overall conversions, but webmaster clicks aren't counted ? Yes, there is alot of competition and apparently conversion rates are a holy cow. I never cared for other people's conversions, but apparently many webmaster do. It becomes more and more ridiculous, and it's not just a few programs. To some extend, it's understandable, but if I send a program 2238 in a day I don't want to see 271 in the stats, or 390 and 12 counted. It's not shaving, it's not scam because there is no clear definition for a unique, but please at least point it out clearly in your TOS or get rid of the hit counting completely like some mainstream programs, so affiliates at least know that they have to rely on their own counts. Flames on ! |
check my program and if you find anything fishy with clicks I will post TMM explanation. I dont count second page hits and call them first page. I dont call join page hits "qualified hits" which is just another term for bullshi*.
We count what you send. hands down. Duke |
2nd page uniques seems to be the standard these days.
Nats programs will give you the most accurate stats overall. They count a click even if the surfer doesn't let the tour load. |
blah . .care about the money you be makin . ; let them clickers click all they want to click
the problem with statistics is that they are not all that many people that actually know how to be fuckin using it . . but everybody be fuckin understanding that it be important that being said .. statistics are control .. if you doubt you have the control you cant use it . . most 'advanced' if not all statistical programs are flawed beyond believe .. dont use them .. they suck .. |
use spacash they count every click , front page second page , join page , even fhg and trailer's
not only that its broken down by country |
it is serious bullshit. the only purpose is to skew the truth.

It's all creative marketing and appeals to those who feel better seeing a lower ratio, or better still running to the boards with "amazing ratios". Overall $$$ is the most important, but we feel showing every possible stat we can makes our affiliates better at what they do.
We count and show 1st page raws and uniques. |

blah . .care about the money you be makin . ; let them clickers click all they want to click
good said, i agree |
I count only FIRST PAGE HITS, my ratios are based on that as well...

Second page uniques is actually good. Most sponsors these days will try to make sales look good by showing you join page ratios...

What I noticed over the years is that some sponsors went from counting 1st page raws over 1st page uniques to finally counting 2nd page uniques. I wonder why :winkwink:
It's amazing how sponsors count clicks differently anyway. Some sponsors seem to count every single raw click (even if you e.g. click a link to another site in their exit console) while others count 2nd page uniques network wide, i.e. if you visit 10 of their paysites, only one click is counted and only if you actually went to the 2nd page of at least one site. IMHO there are still way too many people that just look at the ratios provided by the sponsors and as long as this is the case you will see this 'creative click counting' more and more :2 cents: |
I thought for sure this must be a 2004 bump.
