Question about wire transfers

Gentlemen
How long it takes for the money to show up in Canadian bank accounts if money is wired from US?
It is straight US $ transfer meaning US$ to US$ account, no curreny conversion.
Thanks to anyone who cares to reply

"it depends"

US Banks (or maybe banks in general?) seem to kinda suck at wire transfers.

Many wires take one business day, however many international wires can easily take 3-4 before they show up on our end.

Then, if you are getting into amounts over $10k or so.. good f'in luck :) Seemingly randomly a wire will take 2-3 weeks to "show up" - I assume due to the FBI or whomever "checking out out" (read: some retard hitting enter on his keyboard)

G'luck!

If its some podunk farmers bank then 1-3 days. If its a big bank without a pass through then 5-10 minutes.

I receive wires from Canada to my US bank in less than 24 hrs.

"should" being the operative word, but don't believe it. I would say typical would be 2 or 3 days by the time it shows up in your account depending on the day and/or time it was sent.

I had a wire sent from the states yesterday and it hit my account today by 11:00 this morning and I'm in Europe:)

Yippee for you. WTF does that prove? I have wires sent to me on a regular basis and they NEVER get here the same day.

I also send wires on a fairly regular basis, and unless I get to the bank before 2 PM, there is no way it is even going out on that same day.

Well it proves you should switch banks.

borked 03-13-2007 11:34 AM

Anything up to 5 days, I'd say, but yeah 1 or 2 days is the standard...

p0rnus 03-13-2007 11:36 AM

about 1 day

baddog 03-13-2007 11:40 AM

I am noticing a pattern that these one day people seem to live on the east coast. Maybe, just maybe, time zones play a factor.

puravida 03-13-2007 11:40 AM

my wires from canada to bank of america hit within a few hours.

RegUser 03-13-2007 12:27 PM

24 hours is terribly long considering I am paying SIXTY bucks for this bull crap. No wonder internet based e-transfers are booming now a days

Tiffany Preston 03-13-2007 04:27 PM

1 to 7 business days
